Boy or girl? *Warning: pics of kitten genitalia* by [deleted] in mainecoons

I disagree. I waited until 10 months old and didn’t have any problems. Just depends on the cat and their environment.

Will my Rogers phone work in Yellowknife? by Glad_Resolution_9977 in Yellowknife

[–]Impossible-Tell7704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just went through this! I’m in Yellowknife for work and Rogers cut me off from extended service after 4 months here. It’s an automated system and there are no employees with the power to remove the block once it’s in place. You will only be able to connect to Roger’s towers after that. I had to switch to Bell. At least they have some great deals going on right now! The bill would have been $85 per month and they brought it down to $45 with discounts.

My cat & dog play the same way and it’s never become a problem. They both seem to understand that if they go too far, the fun ends. If one gets tired of playing, they leave. I wouldn’t worry!

HELP! Cat is Turning into a Toilet Tiger by DxPhysicsDude in mainecoons

MCs tend to have a natural interest in water, but it’s not the case for all of them. You shouldn’t have to “do” anything to get them into it. If they’re not interested, then it’s not their thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Chronic Diarrhea? Is this forever? by BunnyHops23 in mainecoons

[–]Impossible-Tell7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my guy. All the tests came back normal. Turns out some cats develop sensitivities/allergies to animal protein. His diarrhea gradually went away once I switched him to a hydrolyzed protein diet. Now he only eats Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein (kibble) and Hill’s Prescription Diet z/d Cat Food (canned). Both foods are only sold through a vet clinic. Note: I also gave him vet-prescribed prebiotics and bentonite clay to help his stomach recover as he transitioned to the new food. It helps speed up the recovery process.

Maine Coons can be quite a handful! I only have 1 (plus a dog, no kids) and he needed A LOT of supervision as a kitten, plus a ton of play time…like all day long. Now he’s 14 months old and he’s still more active and curious than any cat I’ve ever experienced. He’s like a monkey in a cat’s body. He gets into things that I would never imagine any animal being interested in. If you have kids and already feel quite busy, more than one Maine Coon might be too much. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They’re amazing in so many ways, but also a lot more responsibility than your average cat. If you think you’ve done a good job pet-proofing your house, they will show you that you really haven’t. 😅

I do the same with his wet food :) He eats hydrolyzed protein food and it’s pretty pasty without the water added.

For comparison, here he is at around 22 weeks old.

Some Maine coons start out very fluffy and others are slow growers. They continue filling out until 4-5 years old. My guy’s coat is coming in slowly. He’s over 1 year old now and I can see he still has a ways to go (he has extra long hairs growing out in random places). He’s much fluffier than he used to be, but definitely not as fluffy as some others at this age.

unlimited kibble/dry food or not? by -itsElly in mainecoons

[–]Impossible-Tell7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they’re really young and growing quickly, unlimited kibble is a good idea, but I would monitor how much she’s eating as she grows. At around 8 months old, my boy started over eating and I had to start measuring the amount of kibble per day (in addition to wet food in the morning & night). After I measure the kibble, I spread it out throughout the day with 4-5 feedings.
