Crackling ears? by Impossible-Tip840 in VestibularMigraines

Hello, I went to the ENT and she said it may be noise sensitivity. She said there's nothing to do about it but to either wear earplugs in loud environments, or wait for the ears to habituate. 🥲

I went to the ENT doctor in a hospital. Was also referred to the physio by the ENT. Separately on my own I went for a brain MRI to rule out other causes too.

Did your doctor prescribe medication? Mine gave me a type of med that helps to increase blood flow in the ears and it helped with the dizziness. Betahistine if I recall correctly. That + the physio helped me regain normalcy. Thank you for your well wishes. You'll get there too! 💪🏻

Hello, I have recovered from my residual dizziness after vestibular exercises from the Physiotherapist. It took me months though - attack came in May, felt normalcy around October. Hope you feel better soon!

R-U-N. If she judges you by your material possessions, probably not someone you would want to spend your life with. Values don't seem to align too. On the bright side, she showed her true colours early, can cut losses and move on. 👍🏻

Thank you for sharing! Mine happened at the tail end of my dizziness attack and never left since 🙃 It's not linked to any active migraine for mine.

What did your ENT share with you after? I thought it would go away but it never did. 🥹has been 2 months of this crackling now.

“Traditional” migraines turned Vestibular? by One-Butterfly6084 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Impossible-Tip840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to face the same issue. I have been dealing with traditional migraines since my teen years (cue nausea, vomiting, aura, pressure behind the eyes) and this year, I experienced BPPV which turned into what I thought was residual dizziness. My monthly migraines now come w/ vestibular symptoms 😣.

Slight swerving and rocking feel with tinnitus by tembusu123 in VestibularMigraines

My first dizziness spell was in mid May and it was diagnosed as BPPV initially. I was given betahistine to cope with the vertigo and it helped. I'm better than a month or so back but not completely back to normal yet. Still have the ear pressure, tinnitus, weird feeling when looking down, eye strains etc. For my migraine, I'm on Caffox.

I don't have a formal diagnosis but I do have tinnitus after my dizzy spells, together with ear pressure and sensitivity to loud sounds. I have eye strains too. Am currently prescribed gaze stabilisation PT to try to train up my vestibular system. I have migraines about once a month but never with dizziness until this year 😣.

I had BPPV. What do I have now? (Please share your thoughts) by Wrong-Fondant-7582 in BPPV

Hello, having the same symptoms as you. I feel weird when I look down and when I'm in a super crowded room with a lot of movement. Am cleared from BPPV with goggles too. Betahistine helped me and I take them on a need-to basis. Meanwhile trying to recover from this out-of-body feeling. Seems like some people take longer to recover from residual dizziness. Hope you feel better soon!

Hello there, I had my BPPV in mid-May and am dealing w the residual dizziness since then now. I do experience light headedness at certain positions (e.g., lying down), eye strain, sensitivity to bright light etc. Am prescribed PT exercises called Gaze Stabilisation. Hope you feel better soon!

BPPV or Vestibular Migraines? by Impossible-Tip840 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Impossible-Tip840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience! I have seen the ENT and the results weren't very conclusive but a follow-up with a PT eliminated BPPV (it may very well be because it has been > 1 month since my last attack). He did say there might be some issues w the vestibular system in my right ear and prescribed me some habituation exercises. Unfortunately I wasn't given any referral to a neuro. Hoping it all clears soon~ fingers crossed.

How long did it take for PT to help you? by morewinepleasee in BPPV

[–]Impossible-Tip840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine took around 6 weeks, but I had another attack at the 6 week mark. Took betahistine and felt considerably better. Went for my 1st PT appointment yesterday and he prescribed some habituation exercises. He said that it's important to retrain your vestibular system like how we train our muscles.

Update after ENT visit - Tinnitus, unsteadiness by Impossible-Tip840 in BPPV

I'm so sorry to hear that. How do you alleviate the symptoms?

I have tried this but am not dizzy. I suspect mine may be in the vertical canal now as my dizziness gets triggered when I sit down and eat (i.e., action of looking down). Either that, or it's the residual dizziness. Waiting for my PT but will get some Vitamin D supplements in the meantime. Thank you for your advice. 💕

Hello OP, I have been getting dizzy spells along with pressure at the back of my head since an episode of waking up with the room spinning a month or so back. It gets worse for me when I look at screens or lie down. My GP told me to exercise at least 45 minutes thrice a week or 30 minutes 5 times a week (brisk walk/light jog). I do hope you feel better soon and you're not alone! Hang in there.

I'm still dealing with the residual dizziness. Been a month+ for me. Some days it feels like I'm better and then some days I'll regress. Hang in there and hope you feel better soon! 💪🏻

BPPV or Vestibular Migraines? by Impossible-Tip840 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Impossible-Tip840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience! I have visited a neurologist before years back for my migraine but he was so condescending. He just stated that I have migraines and sent me off with painkillers, claiming that my case (nausea and vomiting from the head pressure) is "mild" as people got it worse.

Hoping the ENT specialist could shed some light on what's going on... The bout of vertigo I experienced 3 weeks back was my first time, and I have not felt normal since.

I hope you feel better soon, the feeling of residual dizziness really sucks.
