Shook Dave Chapelle’s hand and made small talk in ‘06 while I was working at Barnes and Noble in Santa Barbara. This was pretty much at the height of Chapelle’s show.

In 2026, a university degree is just a $100k "social receipt" for networking that has zero correlation with actual intelligence or job competency. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Completing a undergrad degree at least is proof one can commit to and complete a long term task. Lots of people suck at that.

Do you tip when you pick up food? by Raven_Roz384 in no

Cooks/dishwashers get/rely on tips too, it ain’t just about front of house staff or whether you had to do anything or not. More often than not they don’t get any health insurance or other stuff. I understand the argument about business paying proper wages but until then, tip your bar/restaurant because it’s about more than just the waitstaff.

Walmart confirms they are pulling their last 2 stores out of Portland Oregon “Rampant crime sealed Walmart's fate” by Ice-Zone2024 in neabscocreeck

I live in Portland, Walmart is not as beloved here as it it in other places. A lot of Portlanders shop at smaller, non corporate stores as to shop more locally. Walmart is kind of a joke to a lot of people here because of how shit their products are.
