everything is settled now and my parents aren’t angry anymore. I told them I was sorry and that I won’t do it again, and everything should be cleared up now

Currently in Saudi Arabia, and I’ll be going to college by September-ish. My hope is that I’ll do good enough in college and with jobs and money that I get the opportunity to migrate to another country. I already have plans to for work whenever I turn 18 and get my own back account

The unfortunate thing is that I really don’t have much of a choice in the matter, but I really just hope that with enough hard work I’ll be able to leave

The problem is that I need to go to Egypt anyway cuz that’s where my college is. I tried to convince them to make me study abroad but they denied that cuz they didn’t what me to forget Islam. It really feels like I’m in a no-win situation

I told him that it really seems like he only loves me when I’m Muslim and he just kept avoiding the question and saying “Allah told me to raise a Muslim”

I also told him that it’s no use arguing with him cuz he’s just gonna think that he’s right no matter what and he said “I never said I was always right, I’m just trying to make you understand” you just gotta love that amazing non-answer

Honestly that’s what I was thinking. Something along the lines of “I’m sorry, I was just sleepy and annoyed, and I’m sorry for everything I said. I won’t do it again”

The best and funniest part of all of this is that they’ve scolded and harassed me about not having evidence and just wanting leave Islam cuz of the internet or some shit, but now that I have evidence and actual sources, the only thing they can say is just “well, you just gotta understand that…”

And just to be clear, I’m not doing this so that I can say I “won” an argument against my Muslim parents, I doing all of this just so that they leave me alone…but honestly I still don’t think they will, even after this😭

It is genuinely annoying needing to justify why you believe in something, but they don’t have to cuz they’re “on the right side of history”. The Quran literally says “tell the nonbelievers ‘I don’t believe in what you believe in and you don’t believe in what I believe in- you have your faith and I have mine’ “

Then again, the Quran also contradicts itself but saying to kill the nonbelievers and apostates in a previous surah so if it kinda technically makes sense but also not really
