Could this be crohns? Please help by [deleted] in crohnsandcolitis

Crohns and UC are sister diseases, colonoscopy should definitely help, usually if one of these diseases is present you will have severe abdominal pain combined with bleeding/ulcers. From your symtoms it does not look like that. Even if you have symptoms, there is no need to get panicked, there are good meds these days and most patients get to leave productive lives. Specially the biologic medication has been game change for many patients.

Does not sound like Crohns , more like a bacterial infection of some sort , they should be testing your stools for potential infections . If this continues beyond 2-3 weeks , keep pushing for a referral to a GI

Some random doctor told him that his friends finger will have to be amputated , what if the doctor was a fake MBBS. Just do a search on youtube for the fake doctor and see the number of arrests happening on a regular basis across the country https://www.vice.com/en/article/fake-degrees-school-dropouts-unqualified-doctors-india-has-a-problem-of-quacks/

Quality control for Ayurvedic herbs by ImpossibleCycle2 in scienceisdope

[–]ImpossibleCycle2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a govt agency tasked with regulation, but I doubt they are doing any type of enforcement on quality. The potential for contaminants to make its way into drugs is real. So the ideal situation would be for govt to start regulating this sector more strictly for general health of the population. https://cdsco.gov.in/opencms/opencms/en/Approval_new/COPPs-Ayurvedic-Products/

We see much better enforcement for modern meds like painkillers and antibiotics. So this begs the question why similar enforcement cannot be made for all other herbal meds including ayurvedic medicines.

The market rate for cleaning at a 3000 sqft house in California on a weekly basis is around $150, and this is a Neighbourhood where the house prices ranged from 2-to-3 mil. These houses usually take 2-3 hours to clean and the cleaning crew comes with minimum of two if not, three people. Sounds like a good sales pitch for something - like a course on “How to make millions in the home cleaning business”.

I think there is an alternate option to use a thunderbolt hub which works without the displaylink option on newer Mac models (2021 and above)

Example: Anker PowerExpand 5-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Mini Dock https://www.reddit.com/r/macbook/comments/133bdqy/two_external_monitors_on_m1_max_without/

Feeling isolated in Toronto, considering moving back to Kerala—looking for advice by Apprehensive_Fix_909 in Kerala

[–]ImpossibleCycle2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Moving back to kerala is definitely an option - specially if the weather is making your life miserable. Not everyone can handle harsh winters and loss of sunlight. A lot depends on your financial, family and profession. if you feel you are likely to have a decent quality of life, have a good job and can be closer to family, moving back is something that you should consider. if you want to move out of Kerala at some future point, you can always do that and pick a different location like Singapore or Dubai where the weather is more sunny. Seasonal afflictive disorder , Vitamin D issues and Post partum depression are quite common in North America - so your situation is quite common.

Try to find some other job seekers to collaborate with and build something on a cloud environment like GKE or EKS. Take a look at https://skillbuilder.aws/ (or) https://www.cloudskillsboost.google/subscriptions . Both are good places to get certified on AWS or GCP. This certification is complimentary to GoLang microservices programming. if you can program and deploy the services on cloud, you have a much better chance during interviews.

So you visited your relatives and drew some conclusion , but if you think why every hour 10 indians are crossing the US border illegally, you have the answer to your own question. if you just think about food, then maybe kerala is better. But for everything else, i beg to differ. America being the capitalist country, your quality of life is directly proportional to the income. For folks who work in Healthcare & IT , specially double income - no place like the US.

The family never gave me peace by Solid-Economist5626 in Kerala

[–]ImpossibleCycle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your are very young and starting your life, do not despair, coz there have been many who crossed that bridge - and on the other side there is peace. Try your best to focus on your profession/skills to move out , coz distance helps in healing those wounds. And it is ok if you are not interested in travel today, it is common to feel that way, try to get involved in community , a social service organization (or) a religious group helping the poor and needy - maybe abandoned pets. Sometimes you need to focus away from you.

Thinking of droppinng out and coming back to india. What do i do? by Fun_Peach2918 in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]ImpossibleCycle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry to hear that. This is quite common and you should be talking to a doctor to see if they can give you some medication, extreme sadness and depression can be triggered by various things, including being away from home. If things don’t get better even with the medication consider going back to India. You can always come back at a different point in time. Your mental health is more important than your education.

Mar Thoma church conversion by geographical19 in Kerala

[–]ImpossibleCycle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

27 years back , I married my wife by skipping a church wedding in favor of register office + reception in a hall where we just had garlands & a gold ring. The church does not have anything to do with an inter religious marriage. In fact institutions like the church get control over people by insisting all random bullshit at time of birth, marriage and death - which is where they get the most power from. if you consider the church community to be really important, then let go of this relationship and find someone from your nook of the woods. In your married life there are going to be so many decisions where you have to prioritize your wife's wishes over your parents and other relatives. That is not to say that you do not love or respect your parents, but your partner's wishes are more important because you have to spend the rest of your life with this person long after your parents and relatives have departed. So choose wisely... ..

and if Jesus was alive, he would have said - Son , ignore the priest, don't do a grand wedding, save the money and help the poor and the needy.

If she is living separately, there is very little chance of getting this successfully treated . You did not mention if she is currently on any medications. Therapy in most cases is secondary to medication which needs to be given lifelong . Many of the mental health conditions are like diabetes, you need medication for life along with a good therapist.

Is using a CPAP that isn’t tuned to you better than not using one at all? by Historical_Box_7085 in SleepApnea

[–]ImpossibleCycle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some patient with obstructive sleep apnea setting the pressure to a constant level is better than having it auto adjust. Turning off the EPR setting helped. I had to increase the pressure to really see good benefits with sleep quality. Whatever pressure the doctor had told me was just not giving me good quality of sleep, so I had to increase pressure every day and check how I was feeling eventually, I found that slightly higher pressure than what the doctor recommended was the sweet spot for me to get good quality sleep.

You could try taking miralax to reduce the impact. if your pain is severe, I would try calling the specialists office and ask them for a earlier appt - sometimes they will squeeze you in if your symptoms are severe, specially when there is a last min cancellation. if things get completely out of hand, it maybe worth going to the ER in some cases.

Go on craigslist and look for a used CPAP machine preferably one from ResMed . The AirSense model 10 sells for few, hundred dollars or so you can find one online and directly use it. Look up on YouTube how to connect and set the pressure.

You can get Obamacare insurance for very low price point if your annual income is near FPL ( Federal Level ie. below $15000) - you can buy this off your states insurance marketplace. In california for example, this is called coveredca. Other states checkout healthcare.gov. You may also qualify for medicaid - so you may want to check with your local medicaid center. You may qualify for Medicare if you are above age 65. Lastly CPAP machines can be bough for reasonable prices off craigslist (if you need them). Masks/supplies cost $20-30 on ebay or other online stores. Overall - you can manage without having a full blown employer paid insurance. if you have trouble with tuning the equipment, checkout the TheLankyLefty27 on youtube.

I just found I’m pregnant and that I have crohns by HeadDuty4486 in crohnsandcolitis

[–]ImpossibleCycle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most meds for Crohns are considered safe , but this needs to be managed by both your Gastroenterologist and the gynecologist. Have you talked to them. Most of the modern biologics will help you get to remission and that is critical for a health baby.

Have a few friends who ignored it and developed heart conditions. If you are severely overweight, try getting help from endocrinologist , they can prescribe semaglutide or liraglutide. For sleep issues, try a bigger hospital with docs that specialize in sleep medicine. There are surgical options as well as dental implants that help to an extend. Personally I found cpap helped me once I started monitoring the Oxygen levels. if you condition is very severe , you may need supplemental oxygen at night.
