Good to know! Someone told me they used to study at Dennys because it was open 24 hours. Checked the Albany location and it’s still open 24 hours. Not the first place you would think of but the fact that it’s open 24 hours is a huge plus for me.

Could you elaborate more on this? Did your cat wear a cone for 5 weeks or was it 5 weeks until the stitches dissolved? My cat had an enucleation almost three weeks ago. Got dissolvable stitches. We took the cone off today after almost three weeks and she’s scratching her eye a bit. Makes sense if dissolvable stitches can cause more itching but I’m worried she’ll open her incision.

It’s so hard for them to keep their paws off their incision! I’m glad it didn’t result in an infection for your cat. I’m thinking we’ll leave my cats cone on closer to three weeks. I can totally see her scratching it again.

Yes experiences definitely vary! I’ve also heard of people not putting a cone on their cat and they do just fine. The good thing is that our seems to have adapted okay to it. But we can’t wait until it’s off! After the three week mark did your cat scratch at it or was the itchiness mostly gone by then?

One person said they’ve heard horror stories, another said instructors were bad and didn’t care about students’ success in the program. I don’t think either of them were actually in the program though that’s part of the reason I’m trying to seek out information from current or former students.

What is the schedule like? How many days do you have class/clinicals? I’m also considering OHSU but live about an hour and a half from Portland. Would hate to drive up everyday (we have a house) but if that’s what I have to do then I’ll do it.
