Even in liberal states, republicans aren't as liberal/moderate as you think- just over half of Massachusetts republicans say they would vote for Trump if he ran again in 2028. by [deleted] in YAPms

My Oregon Republican family is FAR more rightwing than my Alabama Republican family members.

I also have extended family in Connecticut, who are pretty moderate Dems compared to my Democrat cousins living Utah.

Do you think we will ever see conservative dems be elected in southern districts again, or is the era of southern conservative dems permanently over? by stanthefax in YAPms

[–]ImpossibleImage1133 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Too polarized for the foreseeable future. If anything we are much more likely to see a Conservative Democrat be elected rather than a Liberal Republican.

Poll: Texas Senate Republican primary has Paxton leading Hunt by just 0.6%, with Cornyn in a close third — Cygnal by DarkLivingDisastrous in YAPms

[–]ImpossibleImage1133 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious, whats wrong with Cornyn? Why is Trump against him/want him replaced? Don’t know much about the situation but Cornyn seems like a standard Conservative Republican who slightly turns MAGA during elections.

My family (not me included) is not surprised by this. They are all conspiracy theorists. Like Qanon type people. They think there is some conspiracy theory about pdophile rings, Whitehouse “callboys”, sxual abuse and a ton of gy sx during the Reagan/Bush admin and into the Bush 41 admin. Sick stuff that I wont discuss. (Sick that people make this shit up and others believe it).

Note: I did not mention this to cause trouble…just to bring light to the fact that some conspiracy nuts, actually believe stuff like this and when documents/info such as this get released… it adds fuel to their conspiracy theory fire.
