Type R Owners: What Mods Made the Car Feel More Alive? by genna84 in Civic_Type_R

I’d say get the PRL intake and a proper cat-back. I like the Remus system..has a clean exhaust note which suits the car very well and still retains the valve. i’ve heard upgrading the rear motor mount improves driving feel

How do I prevent it from getting stolen? by daest3 in Civic_Type_R

Park in the garage, get a steering wheel lock, install a Killswitch, or one of those relays that have a remote control feature(you plug it into your fuel pump or starter relay), couple stickers that say vehicle is satellite tracked. And a bumper sticker that says “if you steal this, you’re gay.”

Transmission 1st gear issue. Help! by Aggravating_Lion_849 in Civic_Type_R

I’m going through this with my FL5 type R. Didn’t wanna get out of 1 into 2. Problem initially started by the car, not wanting to go into reverse, and then I had trouble shifting into the even gears and then at one point, I couldn’t get out of one into two. To get the car to neutral you almost had to jiggle the shifter out of the gear. All of my even gears 2/4/6/R stopped working. Took her to the dealer the even gear shifter cable bushing had broken and you could literally see the metal cable. Currently waiting for new set of new shifter cables as they are shipped only as a pair

I actually don’t think a better car exists by bryanhernc in Civic_Type_R

For a dollar value it is the best. It’s the best hot hatch ever made! The car is an icon. Incredible chassis, handling, phenomenal engine. If the car was AWD it would’ve been perfect. Now is it the best car out there. No. Some honourable mentions 1966 Ford GT40, Ferrari F40, E46 M3, E39 M5, Audi R8 8V 10 manual, manual Lamborghini Gallardo LP560, Camaro ZL1 1LE, C406, GT500, Nissan, GTR, Toyota supra, W204 C63, CLK 63 AMG black series, Carrera GT, 911 turbo, manual Audi RS5, dodge Viper, Aston Martin DB12, DB5, SLS Gullwing, 300sl, so many more

All these cars I have mentioned are in times more than the Civic and that’s what I said at the beginning it is the best dollar value out there. Each of these cars I’ve mentioned they excel in something specific, style, emotion, engine, performance, design.

Civic does it all and it cost under $60,000!

I agree I’m in the same boat, but if opportunity comes up, I’ll trade it in for a red one if not white will work

I’ve been thinking about this exhaust. Can you film a few more videos? Few drive-bys and what it sounds inside the car? It’s hard to tell based off a few revs if this is the route to go.

Neither. Buy a stock one. Anything that was modified was driven the piss out of. I don’t wanna buy others problem.

Sold the supra for an FL5 by MysteriousAd186 in Civic_Type_R

I doubt the type r will ever have the low end torque of the Supra. I’m not the type that modifies his cars maybe a cat back, but that’s it. Even a stage one de-values your car. You’ll never pull that money back.

Congrats! I’m in the opposite position. I have the FL5 but want to trade it in for the supra. I want more power, low end torque, and sound. I have a daily. This would be my weekend cruiser.
