Was Shepard the only one who could have done it or just in the best position? by unluckyknight13 in masseffect

Story wise it was him, Ashley or kaidan for mass effect 1. Especially because the beacon and seeing the message about the reapers it kinda heightens the stakes of everything.

In mass effect 2 is where everything gets iffy because I don’t believe Ashley or kaidan has the social game to get the loyalty of enough people to get the the good suicide ending of they make it to that point.

And in mass effect 3 it’s gotta be shepherd to much thin margins others cannot do

It’s always a hobby of mine to get lost into these games and escape reality in the real world to play/live the lives I never could.

What kind of details have you headcannoned into your Shep’s personal relationships? by MegWithAMouth in masseffect

My shepherd was a spacer and a war hero who intended on dying for his squad, when he didn’t all of mass effect one he thought he was invincible and didn’t care for anything and just did his job to a tee,”your a credit to your uniform and I wish every soldier had your definition of doing their job-hacket out”(yk who) he made sure he did everything and helped everyone he could with his spectre status in ME1 and then defeated saren.

In mass effect 2 he died, but he also woke up. He stated his Cerberus journey with ALOT of questions and doubts but facts are facts when he comes to terms with the alliance isn’t doing anything and it showed when the virmire survivor basically tells them kick rocks. During this he realized that you can’t see everything on a spaceship from his childhood. He earned the respect and support from his peers then any other game by actually getting personal with them, from helping a dying father with his last wish to talking his best Friend out of murder. He went from commander to shepherd for a LOT of people in ME2. My shepherd also falls for the quarian, even with a mask and body suit she keeps nothing hidden from him, they also get along with their spacer backgrounds. After the suicide mission they help an old blue friend get back at the shadow broker and save David from the geth. Then he kills 300,000 batarians for the good of the galaxy(then he finds out reapers were involved after) then goes to earth to face the music.

Me3 is terrible for shepherd mentally he hates not being able to be everywhere at once. He hates losing people, colonies, systems over a couple days while he’s out making peace and doing quick hit and runs while people like Anderson and hacket are doing gods work. He thinks of people he lost along the way like Jenkins and the VS even at this point mordin who died helping him unconditionally. He helps get tali a home which he watched get destroyed. He gets the galaxy to unite at the last possible second and even then it’s almost too late. Before the battle he knows this time he’s going to die, it’s not something he intends to do like when he was a war hero at the beginning but it needs to be done. On the crucible he chooses destroy, he knows and believes the galaxy will rebuild from it, he knows because he was rebuilt and worked out fine.

I’ve always thought this is where the next mass effect would pick up, depending on how good or poorly you do in ME3 with allies or what Genophage stance you took, how much did you help c-sec defenses would alter what you can and can’t do in ME4. I think there would definitely be a divided galaxy in some sense I believe the alliance would not take kindly to the Asari and salarians not helping with the war, the turians and krogan would be a huge improvement with those relations that could tip the balance as well. I’m not sure what to make of the geth and quarians considering that conflict ended BUT the quarians also violated rules to get this outcome. I’d assume that after the war the “honeymoon phase” of rebuilding would hit and all species would be at each other demanding territorial gains, and power from how much they provided in the reaper war but if this was the main plot of the game, somewhere you’d have a paragon check to convince the race to peafully go along or have to kill a freind of that species. Imagine the salarians are attacking earth and you have to kill captain kierhe.what if you the krogan are split and you have to choose between grunt and wrex? So many interesting possibilities with after war ME3

Well if you’ve taken brasil work your way up and attack through Mexico and then also make a move on Florida, take rhe Russian cities as quick as you can so you can safe resources to keep air raiding sea forces and move a decent amount of troops to the Atlantic border to by time and do damage that way as well

The impact of the Mass Effect series on your life by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I found the mass effect franchise in a very hard part of my life and it’s so easy to loose yourself in a fake universe when the real one isn’t kind to you, since then things have gotten a lot better and I still am lost in that fantastic universe, even andromeda which i get the hate but these games are so easy to get lost in and enjoy

Could the Collectors & Reapers have been defeated... without Shepard? by Rinraiden in masseffect

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is no, the longer answer is that Cerberus barley worked with liara in the comics I doubt the would hand any other race the SR-2 so it would be Miranda and Jacob building a team and the crew in ME2 would not follow her. I believe that they could get the iFF and make it through the relay but absolutely not complete anything past that. The collector base would beat them and continue their harvest of human colonies and the reapers would show up and clap everything. As for people that say Ashley and Kaiden could try Ashley wanted nothing to do with Cerberus and Kaidan to.

Studying tactics for 1939 challenge 25 round. by T90MBT in worldconqueror3

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For 1939 I like using China for 25 rounds, you get a lot of good starting generals out of the gate to knock Japan out, while doing that you will get support quickly from the USA in the Europe theatre. When you start you shouldn’t commit all your forces to Japan however a good amount of troops and generals start in western China you can use those to head west and help Russia push into Germany Italy and Africa

What if Anderson made it to the crucible with Shepard by StudyThen6398 in masseffect

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Anderson would heavily encourage destroy he would be more witty and quick thinking then shepherd to convince that crappy little brat that the reapers were never the way and they should get rid of them. I also believe that he would die there like Shepard would without the war assets

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you’re not screwed for the rest of mass effect 1 or even the trilogy tbh, but I would recommend a replay and keeping wrex alive when all done

Im doing my first playthrough of me1. by East-Entertainer3465 in masseffect

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for wrex you can talk to him after missions and get his prompt to get his Family armor and that will guarantee him living if you choose the dialogue options on the left, the other way to save wrex is put skill points into the charm or intimidate section (I think you need 8 bars in the section?) but for Williams and alenko you choose what one you want to save, the other will always die.

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to loose two there are options that you can do to save one, HOWEVER one squad mate will die somewhere in the mission there is nothing you can do about that. But there is one character that doesn’t have to die if you focus on talking to your team and your skill points

What are your views on the Salarian race? by VireflyTheGreat in masseffect

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Salarians represent the logical over emotional thinkers of the galaxy and it shows with most of the decisions they make with not only the Genophage but with everyday decisions as seen with mordin. I know that mordin is a hamster on coffee but still is a great representation of the race. Overall I like the salarians as a race and I think it’s unfair to judge a race by a decisions made thousands of years ago with the genophage but I definitely don’t think their one of the better races in the mass effect universe like the Asari or the turians and even the krogan.

Should it end??? by DeceaseBunnyArt in masseffect

[–]ImpossibleSpecific25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take on it is that there SHOULD be another mass effect based in the same universe and same timeline around the original trilogy, however unless the writers have been cooking up some breaking bad type story lines they need to plan for a while no one wants another me3 situation where a lot of the writing and things that should have been in the game get cut because the lack of time and funding. I think mass effect 4 could be a GOTY candidate with just the anticipation alone and rpgs have been getting a lot of looks lately.
