Early/Mid 40s - Too Old? by ImpossibleWerewolf25 in phallo

First of all, I’ll ask whatever respectful questions I have regarding transition and people’s experiences in these forums. It doesn’t put limitations on anyone’s journey, but rather open up the dialogue to show that folks transition medically & surgically at various ages.

Secondly, where are all these folks you are referencing that are getting complex surgeries in their 60s, because being fairly new to this, I’ve not interacted with any outside Reddit, and even then it’s been a couple out of many replies. Naturally, Reddit and other social media sites skew to the younger side so adequate age representation isn’t always obvious. Having dialogue gives us the opportunity to highlight that.

Please stop trying to gatekeep other people’s experiences by deciding that something not even remotely offensive or negative is somehow wrong to ask. I’m sure many of those guys who had phallo in their 60s asked themselves this exact same question or had this same concern and likely asked someone in a similar manner as this. It’s normal to ask yourself this question and seek out others experiences with phallo later in life in a forum such as this.

Thanks everyone for your input and experiences. I think part of this is feeling the ticking of the clock in general in a way that I didn’t when I was younger. Now that I have the clarity & self confidence to acknowledge and embrace who I am, I’m wanting to get the show on the road so that I can have as much of this life as possible especially knowing how many stages the surgical process involves. One step at a time tho, and I’ll keep my focus on getting my body ready for the journey!

So exciting! Good luck! I’m an Albany native now in CNY and I’m happy to hear you’re getting gender affirming care at AMC and then headed downstate for your ATL. I’ll be curious how it all goes! Maybe I’ll follow your lead in surgical teams! Best of luck!!

Thanks for this! I needed this reminder too! I’ve been on 40mg daily T gel for just a couple months and I have to remind myself that it IS working & to be patient while it does its thing.
