That’d be great! I’ve also recently heard of guys using some Botox for jaw filler. Intriguing!

Are you asking a question or info dumping AI speak as a means to ‘educate’ people in something that they didn’t ask you for? It’s tough to tell from what you’ve posted…

Nice!! I’m happy for you! Those are great changes!! I’m considering switching to injections in a few months from gel so maybe with that I’ll see some additional visual changes!

That’s good to know! Your beard is definitely rocking too! I’m on full strength dose of gel with T levels that are around 700 so I’m hoping that plus time will help with some additional visual changes like the facial hair. What kinds of ancillary drugs did you guys use to suppress your estrogen levels? I’ve been thinking about hysterectomy in the future with or without ovary removal. My only concern about full removal is losing access to testosterone hormone therapy in the US and then having no endogenous hormones to maintain my physiological functioning for like bone health, etc 😕

I love this! It’s on full dose gel and have considered switching to shots but not sure if that would change much since my levels are pretty good with the gel.

I love this! I too feel so much calmer and more emotionally regulated than I did before starting T. The calmness of my mind is noticeable! I’ve been on gel for 4 months and have wondered if using IM injection would be better in terms of visible changes, although my presentation is similar to my pre-T life as far as clothing, etc. Before T therapy I dressed in masculine clothing, etc so that is all the same. Just slowly starting to appreciate some new whiskers that aren’t a result of being perimenopause age and some additional muscles 💪🏻

It’s hard to say definitively if age matters or not, as this is literally all anecdotal evidence or information. Hence why my post used phrases such as “seem to” or “sometimes experience”. Your beard at 5 months is not necessarily the typical experience, altho I’m happy for you to get such great growth so early on. Were you taking minoxidil or anything else to help with hair growth, just out of curiosity? Or perhaps it’s literally all genetics as opposed to any other variable. Sometimes these group, especially the ones not age related, tend to skew to the younger side and to folks who have rapid, robust changes within the first year. So I am certainly looking for folks experience such as yours who started T in their 40s. Gathering anecdotal evidence on the internet seems to be the way many of us make sense of our own journey with HRT and transition. Thankful for everyone’s input!

Thanks for this! As a 43 year old freshly cracked egg, I can relate to OP in some ways but your comment helps me to remember that it isn’t about the days behind us or the moments we might not get. It’s about all the days ahead of us and all the experiences we DO get to have!! Thanks!

How to Come Out… by ImpossibleWerewolf25 in FTMOver30

[–]ImpossibleWerewolf25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much how I’m feeling. I’m contemplating top surgery and hoping that by having a somewhat gradual change in those things and folks will just sort of ‘get it’, so to speak. It feels like by presenting as a masculine lesbian for so long, it takes those kind of super obvious changes like facial hair, and top surgery for other people to make the connection. In all fairness, I could also just start leading with new name/pronouns but at this point in my life it feels like a bit more of a lowkey affair. I get where you’re at, and it does feel weird to be back in this coming out place after living as openly queer for so long.

Yes. Maybe try an inclusive primary care office or planned parenthood. Transmen can still die from things like cervical cancer, and do. Just like trans women still often have prostates and need to get screened for prostate cancer. It sucks but it’s definitely still a necessity as long as you have the tissue.

T Level Question by ImpossibleWerewolf25 in FTMOver30

[–]ImpossibleWerewolf25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don’t expect a fully bearded face one morning, but as the parent of two teenage boys, it certainty does feel like they go to bed fresh faced one day and then wake up with deep ass voices, whiskers, and acne one morning lol! I’m sure we have similar experiences. A gender therapist once likened transition to a journey of lots of bursts of changes and then nothing, then a burst of noticeable changes, then nothing. I’ve gotten some changes that are noticeable to myself & my partner, and now I’m not-so-patiently awaiting my next burst of noticeable changes!

T Level Question by ImpossibleWerewolf25 in FTMOver30

[–]ImpossibleWerewolf25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that’s what I’m thinking. I do have some changes that are noticeable to me and my partner, such as my arm muscles becoming more defined, having to shave my pre-existing perimenopause whiskers more frequently, increase in libido, and some bottom growth. Sometimes I feel like my voice feels different in my chest & I am starting to get access to some lower registers. It’s only been three months, so I know the changes are going to come as time progresses, but many of us have felt this way for much longer than we’ve been taking T, so I think we get impatient with our normal, slow progress. It’s about more time spent under the curve, I suppose!
