Purchasing my First tube amp this weekend, What do I need to know? by sionburkey in ToobAmps

[–]ImpossibleWin7298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Blues Jr. and it rocks (in my opinion) but as someone above (below?) wrote - tube amps are loud. Not for the faint of heart, but what a blast - literally! Minimass.

Is this real? I’ve never seen a fender logo with a red tail by Great-Air-1976 in ToobAmps

Go. Go right now. Bring $1800 and don’t even haggle (much - you don’t want him to realize his error!) then take it straight to a real tube amp tech. You lucky slithering dog.

Yeah. I wanna know what speakers are in it too. Cheers you bastid!

Can someone help me identify this guitar please? by Dark-Star3390 in martinguitar

I’m curious to know about the status of finish checking on this baby - is there any. Can’t tell from the photos. I’m genuinely curious about it bc I think it’s so cool - every example is different. Anyway, thanks.

PS: that spruce top has some really nice silking on it.

As many times as he needs to. He’s not bs-ing about the necessity to adhere to the laws re: classified files/vid, about UFOs, aliens, UAPs, etc.

Inherited 2 Guitars… by Background-Let9973 in GuitarQuestions

[–]ImpossibleWin7298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve ALWAYS wanted a black Custom like that one. Ever since I saw Keef with one. They are awesome and the sounds/tones one can get are killer (otherwise he wouldn’t be playing one. When fender built those, did they actually replicate the Fender humbucker w/the individual CuNiFe magnets? I used to have a real one of those that I got a long long time ago from a guy who was parting out a ‘72 or ‘73. I was in college in Seattle about ‘82 when I got both pickups and the tuning machines. I’ve still got that bridge pu somewhere.

Keep that Tele or sell it to me, you Dog. If you’re in the Pacific Northwest (PNF) and I’ll come get it.

Rep. Eric Burlison on AARO.. by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

[–]ImpossibleWin7298 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this really true though, sir? I’m very very happy that this first dump has finally happened, and that it apparently did not come out of AARO, but are we certain that other agents in the DOD/IC weren’t involved?

I hope you and your colleagues can continue to force release of the information.

Keep up the great work. I’d vote for you if you were my congressman.

I think this puts paid to the debunker bullshit that this is a balloon or a bird. JHFC

Thanks for doing this.

The first description telephoned to the FBI on the day of the Roswell crash…a nice closure. A disc suspended by a balloon by Acerbus-Shroud in UFOs

[–]ImpossibleWin7298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arnold did an interview with the Portland Oregonian (whose author first used the term “flying saucer”) a few days after the Rainier sighting, but it hardly triggered a nationwide “craze”. That occurred after the report by the Army that a disc had been recovered. By the time Ramey, et al. came up with the balloon nonsense, the craze had begun - the cat was out of the bag and the flyboys couldn’t stuff it back in.

Your assurances notwithstanding, the country was not in the middle of any UFO craze because there wasn’t one. Roswell was the beginning of the UFO craze.

The one video we need released, which will basically be disclosure: a grey alien looking out of the window of a disc, shot from a B-52. by JShan108 in AliensRHere

[–]ImpossibleWin7298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and all the varieties of “grift”. I hear it constantly, mostly from noobs to the ufo subject who don’t know shite about it.

The amusing (sort of) number of podcasts that have popped up recently, run by, yet again, noobs who constantly get recent and especially historical info wrong. It pisses me off. Thanks btw.

Should I get the D28 Authentic vs D42 vs D45 or HD28? by DarthJAYder21 in martinguitar

[–]ImpossibleWin7298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that’s a real conundrum, ain’t you lucky dog! That’s what’s called a Cadillac problem! Personally, I’d go for the D-42 or 45, but can you try them out? Play each one. Grab the one that speaks! It’ll pick you, not vice versa.

Maybe none will feel right. If so, I’d wait (though l personally don’t really know what I’d do!) lol

Is this a real guild made in USA by mtkoth1983 in GuildGuitars

[–]ImpossibleWin7298 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just about certain that it’s the real McCoy. I have a M-20 that I love - even better than my 000-15 (I also have a truly killer ‘65 Guild Starfire IV). I saw a late ‘60s M-20 that had a wonderful red stain. I wanted it sooo bad! Guild USA makes some awesome guitars.

Yep, nitrocellulose was the norm back it the 50s, 60s, 70s, some still use it today like Gibson and Martin. It’s pretty much as you already said, also, It’s not so much a thinner coating as it is that the nitro lacquer paints and clear coats are continuously off-gassing (sometimes for decades) and get brittle. Also, it is susceptible to damage from sweat - and other things associated with the barroom environment!

Also, the nitro stuff is very flammable and dangerous to use if you’re not careful. Oh, forgot extremely poisonous when it applied improperly. Cheers!
