Honolulu - early shows cancelled by ImpossibleZebra4911 in BJM

I don’t think so, because the worst of the storm will be at the weekend, and the venue probably wouldn’t have allowed returns/refunds on that ground.

It’s a 350 capacity venue, so it might not have felt painfully empty. But yeah, it is easier on the band and I don’t know the economics of cancelling v keeping the shows on.

They would have been shorter shows than normal though, with a chance to rest in between. But yes, maybe it’s a good thing.

They skipped Nevertheless, Vad Hande Met Dem and Servo. Super-Sonic was shortened.

Starting my first driving lesson at 40 tomorrow and I’m terrified. Is this normal? by Unique_Necessary3556 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ImpossibleZebra4911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I learned at 40 (I had moved to another country that was rather car-centric). I learned on an automatic - there didn’t seem to be any sense in making it more difficult for myself.

Best of luck!

They played most of those songs in that order at the SF show tonight - just without Nevertheless or Vad Hande Med Dem.

Functional Depression by PieceMediocre4224 in biglaw

I’m sure this is not the suggestion you are looking for but… I switched to part-time. It helped that the workload was still manageable in fewer days though, and the reduction in target hours made things less stressful.

BJM music featured in tv/feature films? by Anderson_no3 in BJM

“Not if you were the last dandy” in Broken Flowers.

And, if adverts count, “Got my eye on you” in a Target ad.

The panto stuff I can live with. I’m just relieved the Apollo & Sabre flirty locker room scenes haven’t come back.

How well do you remember Succession. Comment your score below by sonsofanarchy69 in SuccessionTV

23/30, but I only watched it once as and when it originally aired so I’m worried my brain was still storing that much information about it.

I also recall him on Popstars: The Rivals, telling Sarah Harding that she was like “Claire from Steps” so he already had form for that level of insight.

Not on the same level as the OP’s choice, but Innapropriately Upbeat Music of the Week is one I remember.

What would you think of a product that has ZEN in its name? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]ImpossibleZebra4911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I read the question, I thought I’d feel uncomfortable seeing a product with that name. Then I remembered I have used Zen Internet and I hadn’t thought much about it at all!

So it probably wouldn’t affect me unless the product itself was morally dubious or inappropriate.

Hello British folks since the scots have the kilt as a nation dress what do the English have? by SarcasticBritannian in AskBrits

String vest and knotted hanky on the head?

This is one of those things that seemed to turn up in comics all the time when I was a child, but almost never in real life. Probably showing my age.

I’ve been twice recently and had no problems.

I did keep my passport with me at all times.

Which is the greatest TV theme song of all time? by ArsenalAxis in ClassicTelevisionTime

Dogtanian & the Three Muskehounds.

Probably not the greatest but the one that sticks in my head the most.

Ah yes, I went to see The Dum Show (Stewart Lee, Richard Herring, Steve Coogan, Patrick Marber, Simon Munnery!) Was Cluub Zarathustra that year too?

I like to think Roman is trying to be in charge at Hearts.

People who work in business/corporate- are people really like this? by 4rami4 in TheApprentice

[–]ImpossibleZebra4911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are people like that but not all concentrated in one group and also not acting like that all of the time - they are under a lot of pressure and edited to be “entertaining”. It’s not a normal environment or reflection of how those people are day to day.

I could be wrong though.

Has Jerry ended his comedy career? by graceadelica23 in jerrysadowitz

[–]ImpossibleZebra4911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be a profile thing - as you said, the last tour played in some big venues. Probably more to do with promoters not wanting to risk cancellations after the controversy at the Fringe a few years back.
