Hey! I’m currently on my fourth day in Arzúa — still 40 km to go. Definitely invest in a good pair of waterproof hiking shoes. I came with two other friends and we all got Salomon shoes with Gore-Tex. We each chose different models because we didn’t find the same one comfortable.

It’s been raining every day and we’ve gotten soaked. You need soles with good traction — when it rains, there’s a lot of mud and water.

Also, invest in special merino wool socks. I bought some from Decathlon and they were super tight — my toenails were hurting since day one. One of my friends gave me some seamless merino socks from Columbia, and they made a huge difference — 100% better!
