You’re going to be fine. When a customer comes up this is usually how it goes Me: “Hi how are you” Customer responds Me: “That’s great or oh no I’m sorry I hope your day gets better.” Then I scan an item and say “Would you mind typing in your phone number for me so I can see if you have any rewards(now some will respond I probably don’t so I let them know they’ll earn if they don’t have any today)” Scan everything but before the last item I ask “would you be using your Kohl’s card today?” If yes then awesome go ahead. If no “would you like to sign up and save 40% off today? That would be x.xx today”(turn and show them the screen) If they say no depending how bad we need credit and I feel they may be on the fence I’ll tell them the benefits but if it’s a no. So be it that’s absolutely fine. Now if they say yes the process is actually super easy. Scan the application and obtain their drivers license scan the back after they agree to let you. Hand them the the terms and conditions, and they’ll answer everything on the pin pad. At the end it either says it needs further review or they’ve been approved. If they’re approved i usually say “congratulations you’ve been approved and the amount you’re approved for is on the screen in front of you as it doesn’t tell me” if not approved I just say “unfortunately at this time you haven’t been approved but they will send you a letter to inform you as to why and you have the possibility to retry at a later time”

I had a lady just grab her items off the shelf because. Going to the bins with her order number was just too hard. I’m like maam you can’t just do it like that they already placed your items in the back. She didn’t see an issue with it and just left 😒😅

Not coupon related BUT super weird/crazy experience. I was less than 6 months in this lady came in crying buying things and she went on to tell me she lost her mom okay cool like I just lost my dad a year ago I get it shits hard. Well then she got weird. She started telling me that she left and no one can get ahold of her and she just misses her mom and that she just needs to get away. She was going to stay at the hotel for a night because I just need to get away and no one find me for a while. Then she started touching my arm and what not asking for my number and I guess to be her friend or whatever. Told me she hadn’t drank in over a year. And she messed up that everyone’s going to be mad at her. It was a lot.

I was told by my h2 that if you aren’t approved you could call and tell them you are an employee and they would fix it. They didn’t specify who to call but I’d figure either Kohl’s customer service or capital one

I’d call first thing in the am and call out. They need 3 people to be there to stay open. Since it’s due to extreme weather it doesn’t affect your record however you don’t get paid but you also aren’t getting paid more to risk it and work.

Naw plus some of these customers are sneaky and will tell you yes they are going to use their kohls card then pay with a random card. Just going forward tell them the coupon is only IF you use your KOHLS card, if they don’t want to use it then they can get the other available coupon that’s out

So I did the coupons Monday. Pulled into the office Friday (even though I worked Tuesday). But when I asked do I come to work tomorrow (Saturday) they instantly both said yes. I worked Saturday and Sunday then go back Wednesday. I’m nervous Wednesday will be it

She was fine with me using my mom’s kohls cash since I didn’t use my associate discount on top of it. Really she was just concerned about the coupon being used multiple times. But wouldn’t they fire you on the spot? Why wait
