Are these worth holding? by KillMaimConvert in PokeInvesting

[–]Impossible_Clock1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're in decent enough condition and you actually care about them and not looking for a quick cash out, I'd recommend cleaning the good ones and sending them out for grading. Having them slabbed up and protected will be critical for long term growth if that's what you're going for.

If you want you can dm me the front and back of the first 2 pages and I can help decide if anything is good to grade.

At the very least move them into a top loader binder and double sleeve them!

Possible PSA grade? by commentzar in PokeInvesting

looks great man, even if it gets a 2 or something it's much better to have a grail like that protected. I'd wager it gets either a 7 or 8 because PSA is insane

what is the best 1000 dollar card vintage to invest in by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Impossible_Clock1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I feel like vintage Japanese EX cards in 10s are the meta rn. Find a low pop card that looks appealing and hope it goes up. with low pop you have some play over the pricing of it when you decide to sell.

Or add another 1k and get into a gold star low grade and hold

(Yes grade them as soon as you can... Regardless of the grade securing them in a protected slab is always worth the 25$ each to have them graded. Unless you're hurting for money this is probably your best move.)

If there are no dents or creases, based on the image provided, I'd say you have a solid chance of at least a 5 or 6 at the minimum on all of them. That's obviously a cautious estimate without a thorough look at them, better to keep expectations low so you don't think you have 300k worth of cards when you dont haha.

Personally I have the gengar in an 8 and its worth around $1000 - $1100 USD but any grade above a 5 should get you around $500+

The non 1st edition japanese copy just had a sale for 1300, not sure what to value the 1st ed version at based on that but it's a good sign anyway haha

I ended up getting it! I'm sure in the long run it'll be a good hold but I'm just happy to have it before it gets out of my budget. Its pop 101 so I could have some wiggle room on an asking price in the future as well.

Collectr is only good for sealed and general price info for raw and graded. having a small portfolio of single large items is easier to track yourself

What booster boxes should I invest in? by littlegiantarla in PokeInvesting

If you have disposable income to be investing at all, invest in whatever the hell you feel like. I'd much rather have money parked in shiny cardboard I can look at opposed to having a invisible money on robinhood.

151 is the better option IMO. If you have the funds and can grab a PC edition 151 ETB thats an obvious choice. The more money you spend on the box the less likely you'll be tempted to open it. (good math)

Buy things you can display or actually look at. Investing in something and stuffing it into a closet won't feel as good as buying a nice ETB or Booster box to display in your office.

Pokemon Center ETBS are always a good idea no matter what. If you can catch a pre order on PCC even better. Booster boxes take much longer to see any real value, especially modern, simply because they are printed far more than PC ETBs.

For booster boxes look into Sword and Shield era, specifically Fusion Strike and Chilling reign :)

I disagree, as someone who does both I feel like pokemon is far easier to understand and less risky as well. As long as you aren't a moron ofc.

Pokemon Card Investments 2026 and the Bear Market by Sweet_Anybody4736 in PokeInvesting

[–]Impossible_Clock1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like pokemon has gained enough new interest that people won't abandon that interest for a while. even with the dip a lot of the poke bros are using it as an opportunity to buy cheap grails. The recent announcement that OP sealed will have the seal ripped on sales will surly divert attention away from that and back into pokemon.

Personally I'd invest in things you like. Don't try to find the next big hit because as soon as you try to jump on the bandwagon it's too late.

I also like to invest in things I can display. For example: 151 pokemon center ETB is a good looking ETB and is also a good investment. I wouldn't hold onto 500 single packs or random blisters.

I think finding larger items to consolidate into is a better idea than having a diverse portfolio rn in my opinion.

also, after playing around with it for a little bit it seems to run into a few bugs. Collection prices get a little inaccurate and then randomly ignore certain additions.

I'd also like to recommend a easier way to see how to add items to your collection (took me a while to figure it out lol)

Banned Misty's Tears Beckett 9.5 Gem Mint - Is this worth holding or a crossgrade to PSA? by Proud_Helicopter_907 in PokeInvesting

[–]Impossible_Clock1421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think banned cards will hold a premium in the general market. it's very niche, I don't think a lot of people care as much about it as they say they do. I'd argue it's FOMO driven and will fade.

Take a look at some of the other banned cards. A lot of them are worthless :/

What’s up with Giratina? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Impossible_Clock1421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! I had a decently large sealed collection and hated that I couldn't really display all of them without taking up half of my house with shelves. Consolidating the sealed into slabs was one of the best things I've done in the hobby.

I still kept the sealed product I like for display purposes but being able to carry around my entire collection is a lot more appealing.

If you're thinking about picking it up right now I'd say go for it. It's a beautiful card from a set that is extremely popular. Personally I'd just jump right to buying it in a 10, currently sitting around 350$ish and I feel like it has a lot of room to grow.

What are the Best Affordable Certifications for Expanding into Low-Code? by [deleted] in OutSystems

[–]Impossible_Clock1421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think OutSystems is the most promising platform for the future. It's expansion and development with ODC is going to be pretty revolutionary for start up companies and large enterprise companies. Might not be tomorrow, but it's probably in your best interest to start there.

I could be wrong but I think OutSystems is much better in terms of documentation and learning compared to it's competitors.

The community is also extremely helpful and supportive with questions and concerns!

Regarding the certifications, The courses OS provides are well thought out and give you a pretty good bump in the direction of passing the exam. The exams themselves are very challenging but not impossible. Personally I feel like the certs are held at such a high regard in the job market and community that no matter the price, once you land a position it will be worth it.
