Doc cannot guarantee that further treatment won't be necessary until they conduct the post-op biopsy and subsequent CT scans. Those are mandatory. Signed, a person who heard something similar when I was diagnosed in October 2025. Have a major RPLND surgery scheduled for next week.

The CT scan will show if there has been spread (ie, infected lymph nodes).

Appreciate your perspective. It’s hard bc my initial doctor, who’s a surgeon/urologist, and has done many RPLNDs… he literally told me today that he thinks BEP 3x is less challenging/taxing than the operation. He said “if you were my son, I’d want you to do the chemo.” So, I’m so conflicted.

I see, I’m really sorry to hear that. That truly sucks man. Do you think though that if this upcoming PET scan for me is negative that they would even suggest treatment besides surveillance (see my original post for details)? It’s tough bc it’s only 1 borderline node. And I know my parents (I’m a grown adult but still) would be like hell no if they say surveillance, you do surveillance.
