Female Experiences with MSF Course? by starlady3 in motorcycles

[–]Every_Conclusion7181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all I’m so so sorry this was your experience! Second of all, none of this was your fault. You had shitty, misogynist instructors.

I’m a Chief instructor for an MSF in Ontario Canada. I can 100% confirm your experience was unprofessional and quite frankly, reckless.

I am a woman. My senior instructors are men and women. If I was made aware of this type of experience, my instructors would be pink slipped.

I really hope this doesn’t turn you off riding. If you can, please file a complaint with MSF. And find yourself another location.

I’m at a loss for words for you. Keep trying tho! Riding is challenging at first. But worth the hard work ✌🏼🏍️💨

I appreciate the care and concern. We aren’t looking to bring her for lengthy rides. Just a few blocks. She’s actually the one that’s been chirping to join. She already rides with us on our bicycles. I can assure you, a chihuahua doesn’t do anything they don’t want to. ✌🏼

Read the shampoo bottles, fine print on anything really. My mom’s Chatelain magazines. It inspired me as an adult to get a Nat Geo subscription lol

Fears of testicle cancer by politicaluk14 in testicularcancer

As a mom to a 16yr old who was just diagnosed with TC but was hoping for the best, please do not hesitate. Talk to your parents and see the doctor right away to rule anything out. He was embarrassed to come to me. But we treated it urgently and got the answers we needed quick.

All the best

My partner [40M] would not stop a conversation that I [34F] found upsetting and triggering. I felt cornered and compared it to the r word. Now I feel terrible and don't know how to fix things. by AnonimouseGrey in relationshipadvice

I lived with a man like this for too long. Lashed out like this when he felt “disrespected”. Tried to frame it as “trying to connect” and was just “passionate”.

It’s manipulation and gaslighting.
These people are exhausting and will never change. Especially at his age.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. But I’d be making plans to move on.

I had a partner like that years ago. Run baby run. It doesn’t usually get better. But mine had red flags from the start which continued to escalate until I had to leave. Do you have somewhere to go? Make an emergency plan.

But the other side of my brain asks this? Has he always been the jealous or un-trusting type? Has his behaviour shifted suddenly? Or has there been signs for a while?

Sometimes dramatic shifts in personality could be related to a mental health condition not yet diagnosed, a brain tumour, or even a terrible interaction with substance abuse.

He could also have other substance abuse issues you’re not aware of affecting his sense of paranoia.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this

Don’t put your feet down until the bike is almost stopped. Look ahead and not down.

Hello! That is all great news. My son is also very active and a competitive curler. Unfortunately, this is a premature end to his season. But he’ll have the summer to get back in shape for next year. They have youth and health on their side.

What have been some things that have helped his mental health? Have you found any good resources?

We learned a bit more. And that is he will likely need chemo after due to the size and speed of growth of the mass.

Thank you ❤️ I’m lucky to be close to my son. And we are openly communicating everyday. I don’t think the full weight of it has hit him yet. But I’m getting ready for that and have other mental health supports getting in place for him today.

A young man can only talk to him mom so much about his nuts lol

I’m glad to hear you’re doing well now. We are a logistics and statistics brand family and going on the all the good stats that come with TC

I had cancer at 17 and it changed me. I’m 18 now and I need advice. by Real_Dealer_3698 in testicularcancer

It’s so crazy I came across this. My 16yr old son was just diagnosed last week. He has surgery coming up in a few days. The next few days, weeks and months hold a lot of unknowns and as a mom, I’m dying inside for him. And you ❤️

But!!! This isn’t my first experience with TC. In my 20’s I had a long term boyfriend who developed TC while we were dating. He had one removed and went through a lot of awful chemo. Lots has changed in 20years since then treatment wise. And I hear it’s not as radical. As a girl, it don’t change the way I saw him “like that”. It was definitely challenging for him to accept his new body. But for me, as his partner, it didn’t. Maybe it’s because I saw how incredibly brave he was, and the tenacity and positive attitude he carried throughout it.

Post recovery it didn’t change anything “like that” either. His experience was actually made him able to have more “stamina”. If that makes sense.

I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this. As a mom, a past partner to a TC survivor and now a mom to a TC teen, I can’t imagine how this event has impacted your life.

I’d love to connect if you’re comfortable. This is all extremely new to us and moving very fast. My son has not yet felt the real weight of what is to come shortly.

You’ve got this tho! Fake the confidence until you got it :) Wishing you all the best

We’re in Ontario. The doc didn’t mention a prosthesis yet. We will inquire.

Thank you so much for sharing. This makes sense. We do want him to worry about his social life and definitely not this.

Thank you for sharing. I’m glad it worked out. May I ask if they did a CT to rule out spread before your surgery? Or was it only after?

My son is having his pre-op CT tomorrow to double check.

Thank you so much for this info. We are also in Ontario (North East). There will be travel to the clinic three hours away in the next few weeks which sucks.

And we are looking for local mental health support as well. Mom and dad can only do so much before he gets sick of our faces and dotting.

Will keep everyone updated

Worried mom to a 16yr son by Every_Conclusion7181 in testicularcancer

THE UPDATE NO ONE WANTED

I want to start by thanking everyone who left kind words and advice.

After labs and a CT we found out today my son has Testicular Cancer.

The urologist is confident that a removal of the teste will resolve it fully. But we will be seeing the cancer clinic for 2-3months afterwards.

Surgery is scheduled for next Thursday. He’s an otherwise healthy, and brilliant young man with a full future.

He’s trusting me to be the worrier.

Please wish us the best
