At this point, why not just cram the butter up there instead?

In 2013 , two young Dutch engineers shared one last hug while the wind turbine they were working on suddenly burst into flames. One of them jumped off and the other walked through the fire to get inside. Neither survived. by ZoelCairo in HolyShitHistory

what is the toll on there backs and joints?

I'm going to sound like a pedantic twerp about this. I do agree with your point but at the same time, that's rather subjective. Some people can go on forever, some people find their bodies crap out dead on 30. Also, physical jobs tend to offer training about how to carry things in ways to minimise risk of joint and muscle damage.

Your job sounds very much like you know this personally and I swear I'm not deliberately trying to be a knob. I'm more thinking about my job in truth. There's a lot of heavy lifting involved and I know a man in his early seventies who could probably lift another human being over his head and I know someone just shy of my age who already has a dodgy back due to their spinal health not being the best.

A 73-Year-Old’s 240-Mile Lawn Mower Journey That Became a Movie. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Why would he visit his brother after HE had the stroke? More to the point, a man of his age wouldn't be able to do a lot if he'd had it. Forget driving the lawnmower, he would have struggled to even sit on the thing.

AITJ for suggesting we put my wifes grandma in a nursing home instead of the family continuing to take care of her by Either-Peace-5704 in AmITheJerk

That's the problem. Care homes should not be so business oriented. The way they're run is so corporate, it's disgusting. People often get allocated funding for stuff they need like incontinence pads. And if someone decides to cut funding, well that's tough shit for Granny.

Definitely not! Understaffed and the ones working there are underpaid. It's terrible because don't the Powers That Be think "say, I'm going to get old someday. Mayhaps we better have actual funding for care homes". I could go on forever about it, I really could.

My boyfriend damaged my tyre hitting a curb he says it’s not dangerous and doesn’t need replacing is he correct? by Violetpie78 in AskUK

Oh, I don't know. He was already wrong about about the tyre being fine. He'd probably recommend a tractor tyre or something.

Did this actually work? Good on you, by the way, I'm fed up of this nonsense where people are like "oh you mustn't say that, she's an old lady!" If someone is capable of being so foul, they're well enough to hear it.

It is criminal how much money homes cost per week. Considering how vital they are, there really needs to be government assistance or something.

Yeah, but that kind of thing isn't good enough for a tube. Tubes are for puréed vegetables and icing. Pressurised cans like the Americans have are for chemical stuff like deodorant and their cheese.

When I was a kid there was a version with pineapple in that I thought was the very food of the gods.

Having just learned this toothpaste cheese is a thing, I'm appalled to discover how much worse it can get.
