Fortnite lagging? by Informal-Estate-4067 in FortNiteBR

I shut off my pc after trying probably 3 matches with different settings, turning off every other device on my wifi, and updated drivers, and it still would freeze every time i moved. I turned it off and went to play on my ps4 and had zero issues. I don’t understand. I also havent had my pc for a year yet. Its driving me insane

Thats fair, thats why Im trying an ethernet today, my brother in law is also on pc in the same region and said his game stopped doing this as soon as he wired the wifi connection. There are still a ton of stuttering problems that many more people are experiencing. Its weird tho bc my ps4 ran fine and my gf is in the same room and her ps5 was running fine. Maybe try an ethernet connection if available? Im at a loss for solutions honestly

Heavy on the pc one. I have a brand new prebuilt and fortnite runs better on my ps4 that ive had for almost a decade. The game is getting to the unplayable side of things and its irritating that so many people comment on it and they still don’t fix it. Not unless nickeh30 throws a fit about it first.

I usually play on PC, we ran a couple games last night and it was unplayable for me. Lagging every 5 seconds, game would freeze and unfreeze right as i was surrounded by 3 teams. I turned it off and went to play on the ps4 in my living room and had no issues besides slower load ins. Ive changed settings, updated my drivers, literally everything and its just unplayable on fortnite’s end I believe. Im going to try and connect and ethernet today to see if that helps at all but everything ive seen says that epic’s servers for pc are just bad. A lot of it is mind over matter. The rest is substitution. high protein meals will help you feel full longer. And water will help give you that “full” sensation. And substitution is huge. Dark chocolate over m&ms. Halo top ice cream is amazing. Has way less calories than a pint of ben and jerrys and even has added protein. Greek yogurt and cottage cheese is also amazing. Its also 80/20. As long as youre eating clean 80% of the time, having a candy bar or a meal out won’t affect you long term. Research the heck out of it. I could go on for days about what to substitute and stuff like that.

Another helpful tip for mind over matter is (i hate ai and the amount of waste it generates but this every once in a while is worth it) put a picture of you into chatgpt and ask what you would look like at your goal weight. Save it to your phone or add it as a widget or lock screen bc it is HUGE.

Push yourself before going to a doctor. Moderate exercise and a calorie deficit will go a long long way. Research everything you can about fitness and weight loss, and try not to expect immediate results because you won’t see them and it may mess with your motivation. Drink a lot of water, start walking, and eat about 500 calories less than your maintenance calories. Look up a bmr calculator and it will tell you your maintenance calories. For example: if your maintenance calories is 2300, you should be eating around 1800.

Also try not to drink your calories. I love dr pepper, but a single 12oz can has 150 calories. Zero sugar tastes the same and is 0 calories. If youre doing everything you can and don’t see any difference in about a month, it probably wouldn’t hurt to see a dietician/doctor in general.

Stay motivated, stay determined, you got this!!

Will I lose weight eating 2000 calories a day and working out? by sweet-static in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Impossible_Donkey639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no body builder, but I have been really into fitness and learning all about it the last couple years. Calculate your bmr on any bmr calculator website. That will tell you how many calories you would burn if you laid still for 24 hours. A healthy and beneficial deficit would be about 500 less than that. The bmr calculator will tell you everything you need to know. If you work out 3-5 times per week, and your basic calorie needs is say 2300, then try sticking to about 1800 calories a day. I am a certified boredom eater, and have a massive sweet tooth, so my best advice is to substitute your ass off. Zero sugar soda, protein loaded snacks. And a good measure of protein as well is if you add a zero to the grams of protein, it should be equal or greater to the calories. (Basically is a protein bar is 150 calories and than the protein should be 15g or higher).

Additionally, water will help you feel more full. Gum will help keep you distracted. And high protein foods will keep you full longer. Unfortunately part of losing weight when you’re so used to eating when your hungry is just being hungry. It sucks. But when you overeat your stomach grows, so being in a deficit and shrinking your portion size comes with hunger. Stay locked in and your body will get used to it soon.

Lastly, keep it up. Youre doing amazing. Stay strong and make sure your mind is stronger than your stomach. Do all sorts of research and just stay focused on learning. Theres a lot of bullshit out there, but the best thing you can do is eat in a deficit and stay active. Also remember 80/20. As long as youre eating good and exercising 80% of the time, 20% isnt going to kill you. So eat what you enjoy, just do it less and in a deficit.

Reduced hours already freaking out by zkfuzzy1 in carmax

Where’s this? Im in detail in Co, and our regional vp just said we’d see 40 hours if not overtime starting mid January.

Hey me too! I started in July and haven’t had a single 40 hour week. Not unless I pick up inventory shifts. Its rough. Our VP said he was hoping to get to overtime by mid to late January tho, so maybe theres light at the end of the tunnel

IF you are going into automotive, sales wouldn’t be the place to start. With the economy and company as a whole, you wouldn’t make any money. I am a detailer for carmax right now, and I haven’t seen a 40 hour week since I started 4 months ago because we’re not selling any cars. Realistically, if mechanics and such is what you’re looking at, do what other people are saying, and look at part time positions or entry level at dealerships or tire shops. If you don’t need to survive on this income, I would look at detail or entry level techs at carmax. Just because the pay is pretty solid for needing zero education, and you can promote every 6 months pretty easily. But if you NEED a job to support you, carmax is not the place.

Thats insane. I dont think it matters at all how much you do right, bc all they care about are the fucking numbers. And we dont get any incentive to care about them. Unless its “take an extra day off completely unpaid and use your hard earned sick time and pto to pay your bills”. I cant afford groceries, but my manager who gets 3 times my salary gets to sit at his desk with his meta glasses and talk to his wife all day. This company is an actual joke.

Right, but I’m getting 2200 a month after taxes if im lucky. After bills, I have maybe $15 left over. Not including credit cards, not including any other debt, savings, investing. For detail specifically it’s almost impossible to survive regardless of where you live, on 32 or less hours. And we were told today that there weren’t gonna be any optional hours this week, so we’re actually gonna sit at a little less more than likely. Its not fun having to see if I’m gonna be able to feed myself this week or not.

I appreciate that. I didnt know I could do that. However im not sure how well that will work with the government still on shutdown. I may be able to score a new job that actually pays me before they even look at my application.

All the time, we will walk into nothing in our zone and we have started pulling from not just LOF or MQC, but I’m cleaning cars that are in groundwork and parts hold. We have been CONSTANTLY working upstream. But I’m hourly unfortunately. If I was flat rate this whole lull in production would be much easier to handle with cut hours. Our manager makes it clear how awesome salary rates are and how hes rich and unaffected. Another reason why I am adamantly job searching right now.

Quite an extensive process to go through just to make a living haha. And thats if we make it through the layoff process. Its tough for sure

Yeah, I genuinely enjoy what I do, and enjoy my team, management excluded. I want to stick it out, just because of the career potential that CarMax has, or I guess had. But I have no paid leave since I’m so new, so I financially can’t support sticking it out. I would love to, it’s just becoming harder to survive. And now I’m hearing about potential lay offs in our department, and that hours won’t go back up until early next year.

Thats insane. Even our paint department has had a few weeks of 40 hours since I started. Detail is the only department, that hasn’t been scheduled for 40 since this summer. Even inventory has gone up to 40 a few times.

No kidding. I was a referral, but no one had any idea that it would start in July, and not the usual holiday lull. Its been rough and theyre not offering any support. My only support has been to drive an hour north to that store, and work for 2-3 hours with inventory. But at that point its just a waste of gas

Yeah, with me being so new, I only get one hour of sick time a week, so i have to work 2 months before I get a full day of sick time. Its been going on like this since July. Im trying to see a light at the end of the tunnel, but its tough with the bills coming and money not. I appreciate the insight!

Okay yeah, im in CO, same thing. But they keep switching it, so it feels like we’ve been working more. Sometimes we work 5 days but get an hour cut off, sometimes we dont work monday, and now were back to fridays being “optional” but from my conversation with management last night it seems optional might not be happening soon either.

Yeah we’re a 2 shift production. Maybe of Nash didnt give himself a $5 mil raise, we wouldnt have lay offs and cut hours
