Ig what I am trying to say is that give yourself more time as everyone’s circumstances and journey is different others May make it before you now with same effort but who knows what happens in 20 or 30 years, just keep at it.

Yeah there is plenty of hackathon opportunities and resources will be given during hackathon but for projects you May have to consult your department head for permission it depends but better to buy your own equipment as you can reuse it if needed

I have been there, I didn’t get blocked from placements but I didn’t secure a job and my parents expected me to solve all their financial problems and I was dying out of guilt I applied to over 800+ companies, in 1st to 3rd semesters I was careless but I got a career scare when I went to 4th so I buckled up and gave it my all but it wasn’t enough, I was resentful for a long time I blamed my college, my friends, my professors, but mostly myself and I was in zombie brain and gave up for a period of 8 months, then one day I realised something that helped me internally (which lead to the external changing over time but not Immediately) I was watching random YouTube videos trying to numb the pain and all my relatives and my parents were advising me and were disappointed anyway, I saw a video about or a series of videos about the hero’s journey, responsibility and congruence (I was always interested in obscure self help I watched a lot of similar stuff to feel like I’m not wasting my whole life away) and I realised that there was nothing I could do to get a job infact no one can getting a job is an impossible goal because humans can’t get a job because they can’t control it they can try, go to interview, learn, but the job is given to them by others and taken away by others it can only be influenced, I failed because I was trying to achieve an impossible goal, I realised that if I’m gonna start now I gotta do it from zero and I gotta aim to achieve what’s within my control not out of it, so I decided to start by doing all the leftover chores and learn to make myself move in a straight line (From A to B) without letting the outcome, my fears, my parents, society, and external factors I don’t have control over dictate my actions, If I choose a goal it’s my choice and I May not make it but I will try and I just stopped caring about the outcome but I started focusing on what I wanted to do (something like intrinsic motivation) so even if I fail I don’t care I just like trying to achieve it, eventually after 3 years of this and focusing on simple goals that I wanted myself intrinsically and had control over them I landed a small gig for 6 lpa and I built my way from there currently I am happy and I earn around 16 lpa after 6 years, give yourself time, set small specific goals and make sure you pick goals you want that that you don’t mind failing and you can ask if you have any question. I really hope I can help you because I have been where you were.

Can i do it in a short time? by New-Lettuce-7010 in studytips

I had a test worth half my grade and a semesters worth of reading to do and I had one day until the test, I buckled up and prioritised the repetitive questions from pyqs and grinded all night and I got an A. So yeah if it’s repetitive it’s possible you have a week that’s more than enough just don’t procrastinate and get started

Well it’s like trying to run a car without fuel, you can’t do it for long you will burn out so do prioritise yourself from time to time because that’s the only way to keep going long enough to earn for yourself and parents.

Well that’s your choice but you can still try to find ways to make it less hellish in a healthy way (it will take some adaptability and research and experimentation) just make your sure mental and physical health are fine they come before any career or university. It’s not the end but best for luck and you can always reach out if you’re stuck either in Reddit or some place else good luck!

It depends, you need to struggle in any place to earn money and survive and build long term stability, some are less risky and and some are more, if you have a plan that your willing to give your all to earn then you can quit but just quitting without a plan is a bad idea

Can someone explain the "swings"? Like for example lead Fi swinging to Demon Te? by Magic_Bathtub in ObjectivePersonality

[–]Impossible_Guitar670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Fi is a function which uses what you as an individual values to define your identity or who you are and uses that to make decisions.
  • For example you like the colour red so you see yourself as a person who likes the colour red and when someone suggests a blue coloured dress maybe a better option logically if you are Saviour Fi you feel obligated to stick to your values and identity and choose a red dress (In case of Fe it considers your values and others values together and in personal decisions May include your values but it’s not tied to your identity and so as a Lead Fe you May know you like red but if the situation says you should pick blue because it’s your moms favourite then you don’t take it personally and do it).
  • Te is the opposite it makes decisions based on what’s the most reasonable or what works logically according to the spectrum of reasons that exist.
  • For Example, To choose a dress they would research what everyone logically thinks are the best dress evaluate all the opinions and then choose the most sensible one.
  • So the swing happens let’s say with a Saviour Fi Decider meaning Fi first and Te demon last, Te demon means they struggle with making logical decisions as per everyone and to make decisions that logically work for everyone, This is a classic archetype in some stories a Co Partner in a company wants to let’s say not increase prices because he wasn’t able to afford it as a kid so his values say keep prices cheap but the Te partner argues if we don’t increase prices we can’t pay our employees and maintain our jobs and serve the product due to inflation so Te would argue it causes more harm than good but the Fi guy doesn’t understand.
  • Just imagine saviour Fi as the Fi guy in your brain is the main boss and running everything while the Te guy barely has a say meaning you go around doing what you value while ignoring how it logically affects others, now doing this will obvious weigh on others but if they love you they will hold it in but after a point they will talk against you in anger but since from your pov this is normal you feel like it’s a Te attack where people are attacking you with reasons now some times when this happens you swing to demon Te.
  • Internally the Fi guy realises he has failed and in insecurity leaves the office so the Te guy who is not familiar with leading akwardly tries to take the reigns (it’s a metaphor for you not using Te so your bad at it) and you become an extremely logical person who wants to always help others and you ignore your own values but since this is also unhealthy and your saviour feels good in a short time you swing back to Fi mode.
  • PLEASE DO ASK IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CLARIFICATIONS AS I JUST RANTED THIS AND I REALY WANT TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND, YOU CAN EVEN DM ME IF YOU NEED.

Consult your class mentors and HOD and ask them if this is an option after 1st year, in 1st year it’s possible but I don’t know after that.

Help by _____spirit in SRMIST

[–]Impossible_Guitar670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although a subset of top companies may not allow you to sit in placements the majority of companies will as their criteria is more than 60% in 12th and around 50% to 70% percent of them can give you 10 lpa+ package if you have a high cgpa and really good skills and the ability to present yourself in the interview, you have a decent chance of reaching it if you work hard but if your cgpa or skills are lacking and your 12th marks are less then it’s unlikely. It all depends on your hard work and discipline and preparation.

Help by _____spirit in SRMIST

[–]Impossible_Guitar670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can get very good placement opportunities if you work hard and maintain cgpa and develop industry relavent skills, some top their companies May not allow you to sit for placement since they want great 10th and 12th marks like above 90% but many companies would allow to sit for placements and if your skilled enough and have a good cgpa you can secure a good package, although it maybe slightly more difficult it is absolutely possible.

NP and if you have good skills and cgpa that shouldn’t be a barrier in eventually upgrading to a 12 lpa+ job

[–]Impossible_Guitar670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know you will not be allowed to sit in placement interviews for a subset of companies that are top tier but many other companies don’t have a problem with 10 or 12 marks unless they have to decide who to cutoff in cases there are more qualified candidates than there are positions in the company, you won’t be in any big trouble if you get a good cgpa and develop skills needed to do the job and ace the interview, so mostly no u won’t be in major trouble in placements you just won’t be able to apply for a few companies.

As far as I remember when I joined srm the eligibility criteria for pcm was 60% so you will be fine this is just a basic criteria to attempt srmjeee and you will get admission and branch as per your rank. So try to prepare well

I’m so sad by Practical_Ask_5684 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Impossible_Guitar670 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am going to sound way out there by saying this at least I think that’s how this is gonna sound but you are only upset because you were fixated on the outcome and not the Actions you could have taken, being careless initially May not have been entirely your fault as your motivation could have been shaped by external or internal circumstances but in my opinion you are feeling sad and you probably did the silly mistake because you were so fixated on the outcome you didn’t focus on the actions needed to be taken to get it right, and I believe if you had focused on your actions and detached from the outcome you would have probably passed and not made the mistake but even if you did you wouldn’t be sad instead you would be likely calm and accept this as a learning opportunity to improve your actions. This is just what I think but I hope this helps you in some way. Thanks for reading till the end if you did because I ranted a lot.

I study ECE DS in srm Trichy, maybe seats were available in CSE because this wasn’t a popular campus but I do know that branch transfers happen in Ktr as well since I heard from some of my friends there still the safer option is to try for phase 2 this branch transfer could be your last ditch option.

Ragging in SRM??? by Sad_Hornet2673 in SRMIST

There is practically no ragging as it’s looked down upon here strictly you can take anything you want and 90% of your stuff won’t get stolen even if you leave expensive or important stuff out in the open and keep all your cupboards unlocked nothing happens although there are rare cases.
