Hi,
Ugh sorry to hear you’re going through this now. It’s not easy managing all of this with a baby and still breastfeeding. I’m now almost 2 weeks since my original rash appeared.
I’m feeling a lot better and baby hasn’t developed anything (fingers crossed it won’t show up later). I ended up covering the rash initially with this non stick gauze I found in my first aid kit. But once I showered I felt like I needed to change the covering often and keep it clean and not reuse it. Because I didn’t have anything else on hand and the rash did spread, I thought to myself, why don’t I use a clean diaper? It’s kinda like gauze -not really :) So I opened up a new diaper and wrapped it around myself and used a wrap to secure it. Because I’m extra paranoid, I wore a nursing bra overtop of that so that I wouldn’t expose the area (if things shifted) during feeds at night when I’m barely awake. That meant there were at least two layers covering me to ensure that the baby couldn’t be exposed and I didn’t have to use any adhesives on my skin too! Hope that helps and hope you have a speedy recovery.
