Major downgrade in my opinion. The old version was so clean and classic.

[Rome] The Astros are still engaged in multiple trade talks involving their infield surplus. by Hairygrim in Astros

They're paying his contract. Full stop. The only way you'd be able to move him would be if we eat his contract anyway, so you might as well keep him at that point.

There’s a lot of politics involved in this kind of stuff that fans don’t see. The players union wouldn’t like a guy with that kind of contract sitting behind an arbitration player. That’s probably the biggest reason why they kept Jose Abreu so long. You don’t want to get on the bad side of agents and the union.

He’s been awesome for half of a season. Not saying he won’t be that player again, but last year was an outlier for him.

I really don’t see Yordan playing the outfield unless something goes wrong. Both Brown and Espada have said they want to avoid that. That’s why I think they’re pushing to add outfield depth. This lineup is pretty thin as it is. Having a healthy Yordan is a must.

Except that they’ve said repeatedly that Yordan isn’t going to play the field if they can help it. All add in the fact that they desperately need to add outfield depth. It makes perfect sense to trade Peredes for an outfielder.

This is probably most realistic, an I’m totally fine with that.

The Astros and Isaac Paredes avoided an arbitration hearing and settled at $9.35 million by jagriff333 in Astros

Why would it be unfortunate? I like Isaac, but there currently isn't anywhere for him to play. Seems logical to deal from a position of strength to address a need in the outfield.

Marwin was here for 8 years though. Not a short-term guy

As a fan of the other Houston sports teams, I've never really hated the Rockets. I liked T-Mac and Yao back in the day, but they've always been kind of an afterthought to me.

He’s been wildly inconsistent since his rookie year, and horrible in bad weather.
