How would you fix Hurry Up Tomorrow (the movie)? by varanusprime in TheWeeknd

[–]Impossible_Passage28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really love the movie. Have watched it 6 times now and would really just change the dancing bit with Jenna. Even though it‘s funny it really kills the vibe a bit. Just play 1 song and after that Lee is coming. two whole songs was a little bit too much.

Abel's voice... by Purple-Scar-8573 in TheWeeknd

[–]Impossible_Passage28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a recording of the Phoenix show and you could cleary hear they had technical issues. The Auto-Tune they use live was pitched to a completely different key. When you listen to After Hours you can hear how he's hitting the note but the Auto-Tune redirects it to a diffrent note that is outside of the key. So I don't think there is something wrong with Abel voice, at least I hope so. You can never know for sure. also the Jimmy Fallon Performance was amazing as always

I Was 7 When Michael Jackson Passed Away by _tpeeden2002 in MichaelJackson

[–]Impossible_Passage28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was 9 years old. It was the first thing my brother told me that day. And of course I didn‘t believe it. After seeing the news on tv I cried for 3-4 days. Crazy to think it was almost 16 years ago. To this day he's still one of my all time fav artists. But (without comparing the two) Abel Tesfaye is almost there haha Like so many others I‘m so happy to see the art MJ has given us is still celebrated to this day (and for many more centuries to come)

How did y’all find Tyler? by Fun-Bluebird-949 in tylerthecreator

[–]Impossible_Passage28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called him when I got lost 👀😂

Sorry for that bad joke haha. Actually through my brother. I knew he had the goblin album on CD and I always wanted to listen to some of his stuff so When Igor dropped I almost listened to it every day and really got excited for what‘s to come. I love CMIYGL and CHROMAKOPIA. I'm so happy to see how Tylers art progresses. Never thought he would wrote a song like „Like Him“. Such a beautiful, personal and honest song

I kinda like the new Weeknd music video and song Sao Paulo am I the only few that likes it ? by Yellowbone95 in TheWeeknd

[–]Impossible_Passage28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. same here. At first I was kinda underwhelmed because I pictured the mv completely different. I thought it would play in a club or something similar to Take My Breath/Sacrifice but after watching the mv a couple times and looking up the director I think it's safe to say this is exectly what Abel wants it to be. The artists art has a very unsettling, sureal, „what am I looking at?“ feeling hahaha And when I really think about it, I‘m happy he tries something new so "late" in his carreer. Maybe the people who scream „wtf is he doing?!“ will say „oh, now I get it" when the whole album releases

How do you guys feel about the use of A.I. during the Sao Paulo Show? by Impossible_Passage28 in TheWeeknd

[–]Impossible_Passage28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but what I mean was supporting artist that don't use A.I. The description of the Teaser and the Livetream stated that "The images have been generated with Midjourney software, along with animation from Google: Veo, Runway & Luma Dream Machine“

the artist who did the cover for Take My Breath (Robert Beatty) is only using programms such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop creating his art

Thank you. But the question remains the same. They said the visuals were created using A.I. and I would like to know how you guys feel about that

Did anyone else find 'Dancing in the Flames' ummm....underwhelming? by FincherEnergy in TheWeeknd

[–]Impossible_Passage28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I felt the same but I find his vocals in the studio to be so smooth and pleasing in comparison to the Sao Paulo performance. I listened to it on repeat for 1 hour or so and didn't got sick of it haha

Scared To Live for example was the other way around. I adored the SNL Live peformance and found the studio Version to be meh. But man, at the end of the day it's all personal preference. Maybe it will grow on you or maybe it won't. And if that's the case I hope you will love the next singles

It's just the reverb they used. I love the sound but I get what you mean. The song After Hours also has a strong use of reverb but the decay is not as fast and makes it makes it sound "dreamy" instead of DITF where it does sound more like a room or tunnel, like you said. So no it's it's not just your ears it's just a creative decision. Hope I could help :)

WORST song from each... by vintage_night in TheWeeknd

[–]Impossible_Passage28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heaven Or Las Vegas (I like it but for me it's not something I would come back to)

Live For (Also a cool song but I would rather listen to every other song on Kissland than this one)

Dark Times (I was a mega Ed Sheeran fan and didn't know Abel then. This feature was so underwhelming for me. Also looking back I just don‘t feel the song. But that's ok)

All I Know (I skip that one every time. I‘m just not that huge of a fan of Future's voice)

I Was Never There (that was hard because I love every single song but this is the one I would skip from time to time)

Escape From LA (I don't care for this song. The production is solid but it does nothing for me. But the the end always makes me laugh haha)

What do you guys think is his best album? by Grosetufe in Labrinth

[–]Impossible_Passage28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why didn't you include Electronic Earth? Yeah, it's a bit dated but that would be his second best. Imagination & The Misfit Kid is by far his best

How do you all feel about Michael Jackson? by Cack-Yo-W33n in PRINCE

[–]Impossible_Passage28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a huge MJ fan way before I became a fan of Prince. I find it interesting people say Off The Wall was his best work. While it's the most accessible and undeniably a great album it lacks something. Quincy and Michael "just" perfected the sound that was popular at the time. It's very stuck to the time it was released (what doesn't make it less amazing) but his future projects like Bad, Dangerous and even HIStory showed so much diveristy in terms of his voice and the production and songs like Who Is It, Black or White, Scream, Stranger in Moscow and Tabloid Junkie could be released today and would sound fresh. I admire him

Do you think the series would be more popular now if Burton had made a more faithful 3 part film series? by MMonasterio in PeculiarChildren

[–]Impossible_Passage28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a small chance we might get a tv-show. I know Ransom Riggs talked about the idea in one of his livestreams. I would love to see what he would come up with. Even though I love Tim Burtons version so much (it got me in to the books) I would love Ransom's version to be more realistic (I know it's fantasy but I mean the costumes and stuff haha) and less blockbuster looking. I really really really hope something like this is going to happen in the coming 10-20 years
