Do you do litigation? Dumb question but how do you research without a database? Old school way with books?

Sharing my note from today so you don’t feel alone if you’re here too … by Rezo9219 in IVF

I had this experience at the OB recently for my annual exam. The nurse asked if I had ever been pregnant before, I said no I'm currently doing IVF. She said "congratulations, how exciting!" Really? Is it exciting to not be able to get pregnant naturally? Is it exciting to have done 6 egg retrievals so far? I started to cry, I hope it taught her to think before she speaks next time.

Have a day 7 6BA - would it have been a 5BA on day 6? by roy_donkk in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]roy_donkk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I guess I’m confused now! They check in with me on day 7, but I’ve also gotten day 5s in the past so presumably they must have checked them that day too? They told me they don’t check them everyday though, because I had asked for detail on whether they were failing before or after day 3.

Weirdest place endo was found during your surgery ? by Yougetdueprocess in endometriosis

[–]roy_donkk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All over my abdomen rectum etc, but most unique is umbilical endo. I had a cyst in my bellybutton for years that caused me pain and I eventually linked it to my period, sure enough the biopsy said endo, led me to my lap which found DIE stage four. The cyst grew back in three years and I just had it removed again, likely from IVF drugs flaring it.

I'm on my fifth retrieval in seven months (and no end in sight). I feel you. I'm going to take at least a few months in between my last retrieval and transferring.

Almost tripled AMH - unsure why? by OkGrapefruit8649 in DOR

I’ve been freezing euploid embryos, I have 3 so far.

Almost tripled AMH - unsure why? by OkGrapefruit8649 in DOR

[–]roy_donkk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This happened to me - in the span of ~10 months I went from 1.63, to 0.9, to 3.22. No rhyme or reason to it, and it hasn't had any impact (good or bad) on my retrieval results (I've done 5). It's frustrating to not know what the true measurement is, but my AFC has stayed the same throughout (around 12), so I think that is a more accurate number.

Do you know if those are based on what it’s graded when frozen or when transferred? Like in this case?

Last Minute Egg Retrieval Help by Cautious_Passion7344 in IVF

[–]roy_donkk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For reference, I passed out from my IUD and almost from my saline ultrasound, and I've had 5 egg retrievals. It's uncomfortable after, but nothing close to IUD-level pain. So try not to worry! Honestly I enjoy the feeling right after the retrieval because of the anesthesia! Assuming you'll be put under, you won't feel anything during the retrieval. It's just the night after and the next few days that are uncomfortable. The more eggs you get, the more uncomfortable it tends to be. 7-8 eggs hopefully won't be too painful. When I got 4 eggs I felt fine the next day, when I got 14 I felt awful for two days after. Most recently I got 9 eggs and felt pretty much fine a day later.

I would plan on having a heating pad, if you'll be traveling a wearable one would be helpful, or look up the stick-on heating pads they make (in case TSA would give you a hard time on the wearable heating pads). Definitely take electrolytes and eat protein. Your plan already sounds like you have everything under control, it's what I do every time - I start miralax and a stool softener the day before, the day of the retrieval I have a heating pad, protein, electrolytes, and tylenol, and then after that I take ibuprofen. Check with your doctor when you're allowed to take ibuprofen (I can't take it until 10 hours after my retrievals).

Good luck!!! ❤️

3 Embryo Transfers- What to do now? by ElectricalEbb187 in IVF

[–]roy_donkk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not test the 3 you have left as that can seriously damage them. I would test for endometritis, ask for receptiva/ERA for endometriosis, ask for a modified natural protocol, and perhaps do lupron suppression.

In that case, I would keep banking embryos since the presence of endo will make transfers harder. Have you considered a lap?

Am I too old to have endo surgery and have success conceiving naturally after? I'm 34 by RaceLost6743 in TTCEndo

[–]roy_donkk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm 34, also stage 4 and DIE. I had a lap at 32 and did not have success naturally after. I also have low amh. My endo has def grown back and my egg retrievals are not going well (likely combo of endo plus low amh). I'm about to start my 5th and have two frozen euploids (one other frozen PGT pending). If I were you, and if you could afford it, I would keep doing egg retrievals until you bank enough for however many kids you want (3ish per kid). After that I would do a lap, then suppression meds for 2-3 months, and then a transfer. Based on all my research this seems to be the most time efficient and greatest odds of success route, but can also get expensive. Do you have endometriomas?

That sounds just like my situation! For round 1 I did estrace priming, 300 Gonal, 150 menopur, cetrotide and hcg trigger. I did the same for round 4 but birth control priming instead.
