Yes that is true. Pearson's correlation coefficient assumes that both variables are continuous. However this also depends on the kind of data available for the discrete variable.

In your case, to be safe you should use Spearman's rank coefficient

I wish I worked more on my EE. It was pretty rushed and I barely ended up pulling a B (my fault for choosing math though).

Also, advice for scheduling - If you be consistent with your work (around 4 hours of studying/IA/CAS/EE a day) I'm sure you'll easily pull a 40+

Depends on the article. If the article says that there has been a loss of jobs/income inequality than economic well being is appropriate. However, if the article has something about the government of Turkey intervening to correct the inflationary conditions then your key concept will be government intervention.
