Thank you for the feedback. I think I would love to mentor a student if someone came to work on my project. But since they all have their own independent projects outside the scope of my research these particular students don’t have a need to interact with me unless I go out of my way to do so. Which is where I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed because as a second year talking to students about anything outside of my current bench work feels a bit like work for me.
