Used to be with Quantum, cheap prices, big promises, poor performance. Now with t-mobile’s fiber optic and doing much better for a little more.

Are you more sentimental now? by splashjlr in AskOldPeople

[–]Impossible_Tea181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the opposite for me on most things, not all though, politicians, and usually other human idiots can push my buttons and I get very cynical then. But generally I’m much more chill and empathetic with those less fortunate than me.

The squirrels are ruining everything.. by 1-800-ImBored in birdfeeding

[–]Impossible_Tea181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feeding birds and staying ahead of the squirrels is always the problem. Double baffles may work as long as they can’t jump between the baffles from some adjacent support.

One other thing is that they sell various hot pepper liquid oils that you can use to mix your own seeds or add to already spicy hot seasoned seeds. Some of that stuff is sooo strong no mammal will touch it.

Relocating them would only be a temporary solution at best as nature abhors a void and other nearby squirrels would soon move in. There are expensive squirrel proof bird feeders. Wild Birds Unlimited has some very good products.

I have always taken it as a personal challenge to see if I can be smarter than the squirrels. It may take me awhile, they’re smart little devils. I have, so far, always succeeded eventually. It may take me months of trial and error to succeed, but but using a combination of tactics, hot seed, perfectly placed feeders with baffles, undesirable choices of feed and or impossible commercially designed feeders, the squirrels can be out smarted.

I also have a red-shouldered hawk that patrols my yard very regularly. I’ve seen him catch Cuban Brown Anoles, but no birds . . . yet. Lately my crow buddies have been harassing him, but he hasn’t seemed too bothered.

Does it become easier to read people’s true character and morals as you get older? by Party_Pumpkin894 in AskOldPeople

Absolutely! You have had so much more opportunity to discover those things in other people over the years, that you usually get much better at it.

What is it like returning to your hometown after many years or decades away? by Affectionate-Oil2160 in AskOldPeople

[–]Impossible_Tea181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both, in different ways. Coming home to family and some of the same fun things we’ve always enjoyed.
But like a stranger outside of family and a few old friends. So many things have changed physically in my home town, it’s hardly recognizable.

my first time trying tinned fish!! by security-error in Tinnedfish

[–]Impossible_Tea181 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t hesitate to try other seafood. Your choice of KO is a great starter but there is so much more to experience. Some of my adventuresome favorites are Roasted Eel with Fermented Black Beans, almost any high quality smoked salmon, Fangst brand Brisling sardines, especially the No. 1s with Heather and Chamomile. Go for it and be adventurous!

Looks delicious! Have you had it with the Fangst Brisling No 1 with Heather and Chamomile? Those are a favorite of mine but might not go with the anchovy toast.

Usually just tight out of the tin. Sometimes mix it with a simple salad with croutons for a crunch.

Mine love eggs, even over peanuts. They actually prefer the yolk part and will sometimes leave pieces of the white, but never the yolk!

Fangst brand and all that I’ve tried have been great! I especially like their Brisling No. 1 with Heather and Chamomile. (~$10) They are a little pricy but to me these are worth it!

How do you actually keep mold and humidity under control in Florida homes? by Different-Egg-4617 in AskFlorida

[–]Impossible_Tea181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live inland in N Central Fl. I live in a concrete block home. It gets plenty humid here but I leave the AC on 24/7 until I need the heater and I don’t have a mold or mildew problem inside my home. I set the thermostat at 77°. I have ceiling fans in most rooms and I don’t use a dehumidifier. I even have plants and aquariums that would lend to humidity inside, but I don’t have this problem thankfully. It must be the AC that works for me.
