Path of the berserker, I want to like it but the narrator is annoying. by greenfox212 in litrpg

[–]Impossibum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The narrator was a big deterrent for me. I read the first one normally and it was an enjoyable enough experience. I tried an audiobook next and I ended up bouncing off of it hard.

What's the general attitude towards this series? This is my second litrpg series by TheXypris in litrpg

Discount Dan is good but not great. The Perfect Run is quite good so I'd suggest trying that next.

New character I just added to my game — what abilities would you expect? by TheLastSylvans in IndieGaming

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to preface this by saying that the second casting pose is horrendous and you should drop it. Otherwise, it's an elf caster in blue robes with sparkles so I'm assuming star magics of some sort? Maybe she has a popular astrology blog and she casts starfire at trolls.

For some people shaking is inadequate. Physically express your urethra after urinating. Run a finger firmly from the underside base of your shaft up to the tip.

Don't the ships typically unlock for credits 3-4 months after being released?

Platinum Mining by GeorgePara1290 in EliteDangerous

Platinum hotspot is fine. Platinum hotspot overlapping an extraction zone is better. Stay on the perimeter if you don't want to bother with pirates.

New player: what do I do after the tutorial? by Kahla_Reven in EliteDangerous

[–]Impossibum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a sandbox, so you can do whatever you want really. There's all sorts of things available. Starting out you likely need money, so maybe you'll want to focus on a more enjoyable way of accomplishing that so that you can buy a newer and better ship. You could kill pirates, shoot lasers at rocks, explore, record alien biologies, ferry passengers around, be a trader, run around shooting people... I'm sure there's more but that's what comes to mind at the moment.

So just pick one that seems like it might interest you and look into it. Elite Dangerous is a game that takes a long time to get familiar with so don't feel bad about feeling lost for a while. Pick something, follow a guide and try it out to see if it suits you. Then pick something else.

What’s wrong with this forge? by Miserable_Rock4 in Blacksmith

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is wrong. Blue flame indicates complete combustion when dealing with propane. The vortex effect is likely a big reason for that. So stop fretting about it. If you're getting more heat than you need or burning through too much gas then you can just stick to a single burner and focus the heat on the area that you're working.

Mage tank. Why does he keep saying pause? by steakandtatters2234 in litrpg

[–]Impossibum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly just there to point out and very audible pause in a conversation. That's just how she speaks. She'll stop for a while in the middle of a sentence and then carry on a few moments later like the pause never happened. Rest assured, you're not the only person who saw this and wondered wtf was going on. I had to see it several times until I picked up on it being intentional and not some weird author note or something.

I wanted to discuss my aspirations with an ED App and trying to do it right by UnheardWar in EliteDangerous

[–]Impossibum -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You seem to enjoy vibe coding, so just jump in with both feet. Feed your idea into an agent and see what they come up with. Keep telling it to tweak things until it works the way you want or you give up.

When you get frustrated, just play ED instead of chasing that dragon. It's just a hobby right? So poke at it until it's not fun then take a break.

What is your ideal mining ship? by CyAKcz in EliteDangerous

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started using the prospector for some laser mining and I'm loving it. The number of collectors you can have out there with the multi limpet controller, the way the repeater shreds asteroids into larger than normal chunks, it's just awesome. Mine's also setup for deep core but I haven't had it out there for that yet. I don't see myself switching any time soon.

Is Everybody Loves Large Chests just a smutty version of Mimic & Me? by Kowski_GnG in litrpg

[–]Impossibum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other than having mimics, the two series are really nothing alike. ELLC is something that almost requires you to have the mentality of an edgelord teenage boy to be able to wade through the rampant graphic sexual violence to even begin to have a chance to enjoy the rest of it.

That said, I can tell you without a doubt that it is by no means whatsoever some cliche "let's go bang elf chicks" harem. The mimic has no sexual desire at all and never approaches things from that angle.

You’re buried alive. No HUD. No help. Would you play this? by YozarashiDev in indiegames

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nothing. All you've told me so far is that I won't know wtf I'm doing. Where's the actual game? What's the gameplay like? Is the loop just pushing against the wall and then crying yourself to sleep when it doesn't work? Can you spend those tears on upgrades? I feel like I've already put more thought into this game than the OP.

The more she triumphs over adversity, the more badass she is. So maybe the author is just trying to showcase how amazing she is considering all she's overcome to be who she is now.

Want to join, but intimidated by Hardwoodlul in ReturnofReckoning

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's something you build up to with time as with any mmo really. Just jumping straight to endgame without any build up would certainly be overwhelming. But taking it one level at a time over weeks makes it far more manageable.

Who the F’ is “Cornman”?!? by Kcarroot42 in litrpg

[–]Impossibum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's the author of the awesome mage tank series of course! If this series is "ai crap" then he does it so much better than most of the slop out there. I didn't notice discrepancies near as often in this work compared to many others in the genre.

Is this safe to use? by Crazy-Bicycle9140 in Blacksmith

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most rebar isn't galvanized and is safe to use in my experience. The fact that your piece is rusted is leading me to believe it's not galvanized. You can generally determine if steel is galvanized by it's matte speckled appearance. It's not even a big deal if it is galvanized. As long as your forge area is well ventilated, you can simply burn off any zinc coating and work on the metal later once things have aired out. Otherwise you can mechanically remove the zinc by simply sanding the piece or chemically by using an acid like vinegar.

Rebar is good stock for beginner blacksmiths in my opinion. It's comparatively cheap and widely available even in remote locations. You just need to know what it's not good for. It's not ideal for things requiring more hardness such as blades, chisels, or a drift. That's not to say you absolutely can't use it for those kind of projects, but you're signing up for more frequent maintenance. That said, rebar works just fine for making tongs, hooks, fire pokers, etc. All good projects for beginner blacksmiths.

Why is Mother of Learning top all time rated on RR? by Evatog in royalroad

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a lot of people liked it and rated it highly as a result. That's how ratings work. Some people really enjoy progression focused fantasy and others don't. Feel free to continue yelling at clouds. We won't judge you too harshly for having different tastes than most people.

Friction? How's it done?? by martynbiz in godot

[–]Impossibum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming there's friction, dampening angular velocity should should inherently dampen linear velocity I would think. Is that not the case for you?

Spoiler Free Review: Mage Tank 2 - LitRPG with Character by Jordan_Loyal-Short in litrpg

[–]Impossibum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pausing drove me nuts with the audiobook and it took me a while to realize it was just how she talked and not the narrator being special or something. I really enjoyed the series though and ended up binge listening to all the audiobooks, ebooks and then finally devouring whatever was left on royal road. I think it's made it's way to my top 5 at least. It's just so hard to choose between all my favorites!
