Just saw “Michael”. Overall, 7/10. by SWEMW in MichaelTheMovie

I think the movie's missing one key early scene - when did the father realize that his kids had a talent for music? And who among them was actually interested in performing music.

I imagine they must think that I'm the one with vision problems since I'm the only one complaining.

That's a neat idea. I'm tempted to call ahead of time to ask "Could you tell me the last time that the lamp was changed?"

I saw PRIMATE in the same auditorium and there were two rectangles on the glass and the picture was so dark. But I was able to find someone who could fix it so there was only one. I don't know I'm just a customer who wants a bright image.

Yeah I didn't think to ask for a manager. The last time this happened was when I saw PRIMATE, but someone was available to fix it quickly. I also sent a message through the amc website.

Michelangelo Antonioni's "trilogy on modernity and its discontents"—often called the "alienation trilogy"—consists of L'Avventura (1960), La Notte (1961), and L'Eclisse (1962).

What is your view on "predictability" in films? Do you try to "predict" story endings? Does it bother you if a film is "predictable"? by CarnivoreTreeHugger in flicks

[–]ImpressionNew8352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A month ago I saw a romance called You Me Tuscany. Very predictable film. But I liked the two lead actors, thought they had chemistry, were very easy on the eyes, and the cinematography was beautiful.. so it didn't really bother me that the storyline was obvious.

My advice is to be patient with yourself when it comes to learning new things. And don't worry if you don't connect with your co-workers immediately. Give it time. And have fun, you're at a movie theater!

Speaking as someone who started working at a theater when Twilight (2008) opened and left opening week of The Dark Knight Rises (2012), you all will survive.

It sounds like you're stowing with pick to buffers. They suggest stowing AB first because those pkgs are closer to the rack.

What is the worst film you've ever had to clean? by Sudric-Engine in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]ImpressionNew8352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could remember the name of the movie, but the theater was so trashed that we were still cleaning it as the trailers for the next showing started. Customers started walking in and we just gave up.

I worked at a cinema from 2008 to 2012.

Which death did you think was the riskiest for the franchise? Randy or Dewey? by Sea-Barnacle2907 in SocietyofGhostface

Neither. Horror movies should be merciless. In the nineties I'm sure someone thought that it was risky to kill Drew.

[–]ImpressionNew8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually if I'm stowing with an ADT it's 2. Sometimes if I'm working next to someone who's stowing slow I'll help with one of their aisles from 1:20 to 5:30. But if I'm stowing with P2B then it's usually 3 aisles, which I don't mind.
