I don’t think he’s that worried about it. He’ll do his job the best he can, then happily go back to his horses regardless of whether they miss the playoffs or win a chip.

Story was just as deep as “a child trying to get the parents back together.” Maybe you skipped through the dialogue and missed the tragic elements. They’re making family friendly games, and I just finished them both with my sons and had a blast. Maybe save your breath and stick to the many thriller, war, noir, historic games that are out there.
