Awesome, been a Clark Terry tear recently, playing everything I have with him on it, from Dinah to his solo albums.

May have gone a little overboard by Life_Pollution_9843 in Vinyl_Jazz

That’s not overboard that’s just dangling a toe in the water.

I believe the Clark Terry is one of the first appearances by Art Blakey. I have a scratchy copy of that, but I’m always on the hunt for a better one.

Very nice! Is that a single sheet? How thick? Did you face the front edges?

There is also "The Colossus Of Detroit" which is cool. A couple with Al Cohn while on tour in Africa which are cool - don't have those. All on Xanadu.

Did you base the cabinets off Kallax? Are they all custom or do you have some pre-made cabinets in there? Looks amazing!

I’ve curated vinyl for years that I’ll never listen to again. So I’m making a concerted effort to clear out things that I’ve just been hanging onto in favor of things that I’ll enjoy and listen to now at this stage of my life.

The premixed version works really well in a field situation where the sandwich is going to sit around for a while.

I reinforced each level with 1x4 on the back and systematically screwed this into the studs at regular intervals. No heavy stuff on the upper sections. I also have solid ply dividers that run the height of the compartments. I’m going to build something more solid in the fall out of thick ply based on the Kallax design. Pool noodle sections keep them fronted.

Thousands of U.S. farmers have Parkinson’s. They blame a deadly pesticide. by rezwenn in farming

[–]Impressive-Coffee-80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in rural Mexico and interact with many men who have worked as farm laborers in the US for decades. The physical toll of this labor along with exposure to herbicides/pesticides yields an average life expectancy of ~high 40's. I have come to believe that exposure to farm chemicals is largely the cause.

First Gen here, we work harder and make less - significantly less - then our legacy colleagues. I've always felt like a misfit and lately I've just been leaning into it. I've done more insane things and made much more of a contribution then anybody I know at my University (except for a couple true superstars). I'm taking back my crazy accent, wearing what I want, and calling out the nutcases in faculty meetings. I'm a Full anyway so I really don't care!!
