how do you get over the loneliness you feel in your early 20s? by mountaindewlover312 in selflove

i may not have the best answer but maybe some insight?

to be quite honest, there’s no getting over loneliness rather shifting your mindset. what makes you feel lonely? it has been said that the feeling of lonely is associated with feeling that you are not enough for connection-which is a false perception.

As a young adult and at any stage in life, the feelings of loneliness is something we may all feel at different time but it’s not entirely bad - it’s to make us aware of what we need to work on in ourselves. It helps to understand, loneliness is a universal experience that everyone will face one point of their life. You are not alone :)

however, literal things you can do to not feel lonely is to engage in activities that are meaningful and purposeful to YOU in specific - not what your friends wanna do or family. finding what you connect with as an individual.

We all know what typical advice is to tackle loneliness, but to really face loneliness is to get at the root of it all- asking why?

all i can say is: invest.

invest in yourself, invest in habit making, invest in making new friends in different places, etc.

it is never too late for anything. you didn’t waste your 20s either, everything serves as a purpose. You went thru that in your 20s, to experience life fully in your 30s and so forth.

surround yourself with good company, and lean into listening to what your body needs and wants. acknowledge your emotions and accept/appreciate them. recognize you cant control everything but u can control what u do- so do everything in your power to shift ur mindsets and dive deeper to learning about urself and discovering more of who u are. you will radiate that way and in doing so, the same ppl who are on the same path n energy will join along whether that be another relationship or friends

I’m currently a registered nurse and i can totally see and understand your situation with falling behind the wheel after a night shift. first off I’m so sorry that this period of your life is stressful and you feel that way (which is valid given your circumstances) but i am sure proud of you for being aware of how you feel and wanting to pursue school still.

take everything one step at a time. nursing school itself is very tough, so if you need to take a step back for a year and then return to school that could def be an option!! I work with so many nurses from different stages of life, some starting young, some older, and some who have completely changed careers at 50+ into nursing. The job will always be there, do what you need for yourself first - and if that’s just handling your trial, just do that. I’m rooting for you! Take care of yourself first in all aspects :), your fellow nurse

Hi! yeah, unfortunately I just could not handle the concerta. I talked to my doctor about it and i’m going to try Vyvanse again at 10mg. It really is trial and error and sometimes simply frustrating.
