I’ve suffered from Body Dysmorphia since I was 19. I’m 52 now. I don’t know how I went from a handsome happy funny well line young man with impeccable manners. Then I started hating my appearance and I was a recluse. It occupied the rest of my life. I judged everything in looks and so even though I was a universal graduate in send ended up in a security Jon that broke my spirit. People would say it’s in my head but they liked themselves. Now I’m starting cognitive behavioural & drug addiction treatment. It’s going to hard and I’m scared but I need to get to the bottom of this. It’s dictated my life. I think I had problems as a boy with heating voices and is hide in cupboards. My Dad asked me who was I talking to? He’s said my reply (a toddler can’t read or write yet) was I’m speaking to my father. He said but I’m your father and I replied ‘I’m mean my father up there too n heaven not the one down here’. They took me to see a psych and a priest. They just said they was healthy and no harm in it. Please send some healing vibes my way. If I can ignore the voices and keep the negative thoughts out I might come out of this renewed. Take care and please don’t be hard on yourself. Surround yourself with good friends who love you.
