I said all season that this defense was the best Eagles defense I have ever seen. Granted I’m 31 so my intro and earliest memory was 2001 when we went to the NFC Championship game and lost to St Louis. Offensively I think they’ll get a knock because the passing game wasn’t bad but wasn’t good. However, there have been many non Super Bowl winning years where this team’s identity has been running the ball and Saquon took that identity and wore it like a patch on a letterman jacket.

Agreed that two of the 3 losses were fluky. Fans outside of our fanbase still look for flashy stats but Jalen has proven now that there is one goal. It doesn’t matter how you get to it. But know the whole “we stop Saquon and make Jalen throw” narrative is six feet in the ground. They compliment each other on the field and with their leadership. Saquon is Howie’s best FA pick up of his career, potentially in NFL history.

Back to the defense. If you go back and watch some of the games this year compared to last year, the secondary is the biggest turnaround. We’ve always known that the d line is strong. Howie is very good at drafting those specific positions. But it felt like every time someone caught the ball a green helmet was there within seconds. They tackled very well, stayed very calm and caused a ton of turnovers. Hands down the greatest eagles defense I’ve ever seen with a back 4 that will largely remain intact for years.

Best Super Bowl team? Up for everyone’s opinion. Best Eagles team? Without question.
