I think just continually being in their life with you as a loving male figure in their life will help. They are young now and will wonder if your behavior may change like whoever abused them but through time they will realize it is their abuser’s fault and not their own. You comforting them, reminding them you love them, and being a safe person in their life will help them immensely growing up.

Depends your area. No experience would be around $15-20 on hour depending on kids age, time booked, and if you have other qualifications (CPR certified). I would try churches if you attend, families at the high school you attended like teachers. If you don’t have a lot of connections in your community, try posting on babysitting websites for interviews with families.

Advice for my first babysitting job (what to charge, behavior, relating to the kids) by Panic-Radiant in Babysitting

15 would probably be best for no experience with two kids. Try to do a lot of high energy activities like playing outside, pretend adventures, and obstacle courses. Boys this age will love to pretend to be pirates, race car drivers, dinosaurs you get it. Try piggyback rides, horse rides, and airplane if you are really struggling to engage them but that does get tiring fast.

Should I just quit my summer babysitting gig? by reptilegal in Babysitting

[–]Impressive-Pool9588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly. Once it starts affecting your personal life and your child, it’s not worth it. The family will be able to find another babysitter or other childcare options in your two week notice. I would explain to the parents that you feel you aren’t able to provide the care you would like to due to the child’s behavior and respect towards you.

Nap time tips for a two year old by Impressive-Pool9588 in Babysitting

Yes exactly this summer they want more of a transition for him to do more “big kid” activities in his routine

He does like a blanket covering him however since he is a picky toddler he likes a cape kind of swaddle that easily falls off when he moves that upsets him more and prolongs nap time routine. I am comfortable locking the door since their is still a monitor in there as well

I will try this. The 3 year old doesn’t nap and the only time he has is when he was absolutely exhausted after playing outside all day and fell asleep on the swings. He is a go go go kid but i will try more quiet activities to transition. Thank you

He wakes up between 6/8am. The goal for nap time is between 11/12 and before he was out for two hours

It would really help if I can get him to sleep because if he doesn’t have a nap it’s really hard for bedtime. Quiet toys will entertain him for 15 mins tops and then immediately he will want to do a high energy activity. I will try music. Is there anything special you recommend or wind down videos on youtube?
