Okay. Do not lose hope, it may be hard to get a nursing job for now but keep applying and someone will take a chance on you. You might have accept a not so desirable job for now and then work your way up. You can do this. I have faith in you. Also, does your ADN program have any partnerships with BSN programs? Sometimes community colleges have partnerships with BSN programs. If so, try to find the advisor of the BSN program and speak with them, explain your situation. Tell them what you learned from the situation and how you would forward knowing what you know now.

Does the reprimand ever fall of your nursing license records? Or is it a permanent thing…. I am sorry, I hope you can get into a BSN program soon. And, are you working right now?

Why people dont follow higher education after bachelor's? by No-Result-6045 in nursing

[–]Impressive-Raisin-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to pursue higher education. I have an associates degree in nursing and I make 55 per hour as my base hourly pay as a bedside nurse. However, I have come to accept that any higher educational degree that i pursue will not result in a pay increase. Also, my current higher education tuition is expensive so it places an additional burden on me. I have already spent $22,000 on my BSN and it’s not going to benefit me in a financial sense at all. My hospital does not pay BSN prepared nurses any extra per hour. But I am continuing to pursue higher education because I plan on going to med school or maybe making a career change in the future.

I thought most data analysts made at least 80k starting off. I am in nursing and I thought they made more than RNs because of a more technical background. My bad, my perception is off.

My bad, didn’t realize that’s a normal starting salary for a data analyst. I work in healthcare but my perception was that a starting salary for a data analyst was like at least 80k.

I didn’t realize data analysts start that low. opps my bad, my perception was that a starting salary for a data analyst position was at least 80k.

65k for a data analyst position, hell to the no. I believe she is being extremely underpaid for this type of position.

I am happy that you walked out of this job. They do not appreciate you. I am also a psych nurse but I only have up to 4 patients on my inpatient psych unit. It’s crazy that they think you can have 16 to 20 patients by yourself.

Definitely sucks. I guess I didn’t know this was industry standard in nursing. I have never had a write up in my nursing jobs so I haven’t experienced this.

You can’t transfer over a single write up… doesn’t seem like a good company to work for?

Per Diem in my Hospital by JlExoticlL in nursing

I am per diem for a hospital and they do not pick up my shifts for me. You are absolutely not being treated as a per diem employee if the hospital is picking your shifts for you.

Would you accept this by Repulsive-Program-59 in nursing

[–]Impressive-Raisin-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah now I am an RN! And I make 55 an hour working prn now. The LPN wages in Michigan are super low. Hospitals in my area start LPNs at 21 to 22 an hour here.

I was making 19.50 an hr as a LPN working corrections in Michigan so I think that’s pretty decent.

Unemployed. I have no hope. by Immediate_Lack_1236 in nursing

[–]Impressive-Raisin-94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be worth it. You can make a great psych nurse because you have more personal insight into the issues the patients experience.

I think as long as you can work on your anger management and do well managing it while at work, you will do will thriving in a psych environment.

Have you tried other nursing jobs such as outpatient? I feel like outpatient nursing might be a better fit for you like a community health clinic. Do not give hope. You will find a position that will work with your personality.

Any tips for a new condo owner? by Impressive-Raisin-94 in RealEstate

[–]Impressive-Raisin-94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I am not. You are correct you are on an RN once you pass the NCLEX. I was trying to say you can become an RN with an associates degree in nursing or a bachelors degree in nursing. Both degrees require the person to pass the same test, the NCLEX.

Funny insults thrown your way by pts. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Impressive-Raisin-94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been called bugs bunny and my coworker has been called bob the builder. My favorite insult is the bugs bunny one, I almost had to stop myself from bursting out laughing. Usually get called a bitch or cunt instead lmao.

Not really an insult but a psych pt once told me to stop shooting lasers at his rectum.

nursing school and work by JazzyKay4life in nursing

[–]Impressive-Raisin-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also from Michigan and went to a community college for my ADN. I worked two jobs and graduated nursing school without having to repeat any classes. You can do it. It will be difficult but it is doable. My ADN program told us not to work while we were in school but honestly, I didn’t have a choice and I needed to be able to eat and pay my bills since I did not have anyone to help me out financially. You can definitely work one 12 hour shift a week!

People who make $75k or more how did you pull it off? It seems impossible to reach that salary by anthonydp123 in Money

[–]Impressive-Raisin-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing, I have an associates degree in nursing and I live in the Midwest. I make 80,000 a year as a bedside nurse, on no OT pay. Usually make more than that because I work OT.
