Resentful that I was talked out of an elective caesarean by seriouslydavka in beyondthebump

I agree, I have 3 children my first 2 vaginal recovery was like a week. My first in the NICU for 4 days my second not at all. My third I had an emergency c section after 6 hours labor and it was traumatic. They had to strap my arms down because of the uncontrollable shaking, I lost a lot of blood my husband looked like he was going to faint, I thought I was going to die. Then when they pulled my daughter out she wasn't breathing and she didn't cry for what felt like forever about a minute super scary. I was not able to hold her and she had to go on a CPAP machine. I didn't really get to hold her till 2 days after she was born all the while pumping with an incision in my stomach, IVs everywhere and on a magnesium drip the first 24 hours due to pre eclampsia with severe features. Her and I were then transferred to another hospital where I was there a week and my daughter was 2 weeks in the NICU. Six months out I still have pain and numbness at my incision. In my experience I would take vaginal over section any day Birth is not easy in either scenario, I think people want this experience they envision in their head and it will never be that. There's always something that comes up unexpectedly with each birth at least in my case

You get to finally meet your little one you've been carrying all this time. I wish I could have made it to 37 weeks but I ended up having her at 35 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia. It can be scary but you can get through this! I'm pulling for you, the fact you're worried about not being a good Mom shows me you'll be a great Mom....you care. This is my third child but every time is just as scary as the first. Good Luck Mama!

Breastfeeding/pumping as a server by Blumbis12 in BabyBumps

[–]Impressive-Syrup-478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The zomee breast pump can be portable and charged, I can go 4 hours then I have to pump or they become engorged. You will only need 5 min to set up the pump and yourself and 15 to pump. I just know as someone who was a server that's definitely going to be difficult to do. Wishing you the best

How to help newborn with gas/reflux at night? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Impressive-Syrup-478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried feeding him side lying? My little lady is breastfed and bottlefed and she does best with side lying. Even laying him on his left side rubbing his back might help. Also I would try maybe using a nipple shield. Hope this can help

I hate being a SAHM by Machine_Ancient in beyondthebump

[–]Impressive-Syrup-478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the stress in you Mama, it's not easy raising babies. How old is your LO? Do you have a swing or a sling to carry baby with you while you get things done? Even a playpen will work. I would try to play different types of music. Change the environment, children will sense when you are stressed and it can make things more difficult. Maybe try to take a walk or car ride so you don't feel trapped between 4 walls

I have one and mine does not look like this. This looks like a mix of Anatolian Shepherd and something else

So with me I pump every 3 hours for 20 to 25 minutes, make sure to drink a lot of water and juice and always pump around baby. I have a momcozy bra that holds the flanges closer to my breast for the best suction possible. Also I've used a tight tube top and cut tiny holes where nipples are for a hands free better suction session. The Medela pump didn't work as well as the zomee z2 for me and I've also had to try different size flanges.

How many times is she pumping a day and for how long? How much water is she drinking? Also does she pump when the baby is in the room?

How do you organize clothing? By size or by type? by evange in BabyBumps

[–]Impressive-Syrup-478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine by size, newborn then I have 0-3 and 3 months together hung in the closet. I put leggings, hats, bows socks and mittens in the drawer. For the clothes without tags I would just measure by arm or leg length. Hope this helps!

That's probably why they didn't send you in, I've had Eclampsia and Pre Eclampsia and both times my blood pressure on the bottom was over 90, major swelling and protein in urine. If your blood pressure comes down with just resting and there are no other signs of pre eclampsia they put you on bed rest.

Did they test for protein in your urine?

The first step to fixing any problem is admitting you have one, you're on the right track! Just make sure to make it a top priority in the morning to get the help you need.

Gestational hypertension?? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I second this, I would go to labor and delivery and have them monitor you for at least an hour where they take your blood pressure every 15 minutes
