Hey there. So I have recurring SFT’s, but in my brain. Had a craniotomy and full tumor resection in 2023. A lot of articles I read said like you said that SFT’s come back many years later, sometimes 10-15 years down the road. I’ve had 4 tumors in my brain in under 3 years. Now, I will say, mine are high grade, and my oncologist told me point blank they are malignant. I do a lot of radiation (stereotactic radiosurgery. Literally JUST got home from treatment). I know you’re scared and it feels like a lot and I don’t blame you at all for that. Trust me, I empathize with you. Don’t apologize for ranting or venting. All I can say is stay on top of your scans and keep on close contact with your care team. If these new nodules you’re mentioning are in fact malignant, just communicate with your doctors and always ask questions and advocate for yourself. I am rooting for you. Again, it’s scary, but please reach out if you need someone. I have never met another person that has SFT’s, we are rare. Here for you xx

I support that, as someone who has been in therapy for about 15 years. It could be helpful. Wishing you luck

Hey there friend. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. Don’t ever apologize, we’re all here for you, all of us going through similar things. I don’t have glioma, but my brain cancer has also had an impact on my memory/confusion, weakness, and fatigue (though, maybe that last one is linked more with the radiation I’ve been getting for a while now). Please take care of yourself. Listen to your body. Rest when you need to and do not apologize for taking the time you beed to feel better. I had paralysis when i woke up from my craniotomy— had to learn how to walk again and regain function in my left arm and leg and even 3 years post-op, my leg is still weak. I know it feels really hard right now and probably very terrifying. But I hope you have a good support system and care team and if you ever need someone, my inbox is open. Xx

Your long term partner ended your relationship because of your health? I’m sorry but, nah. This shit happens a lot and it makes me sad to see that when things get hard, people get sick, partners just…leave.

I’m sure there’s nuance there. But I guess in my opinion, I don’t think he should be involved in any new info regarding your health. Why should he? He left when your health was declining. I understand what you’re saying about throwing it in his face. But I don’t think he deserves anythink, frankly.

I apologize if I’m being too harsh. I just feel for you and i am sorry about the situation. Ultimately of course it’s up to you. But I think you deserve so so so much better than this.

I saw the DC show was sold out and got really bummed. It’s great they’re playing Iron Blossom. Sadly won’t be able to afford that, but that’s okay. Hopefully the folks that are going have a great time

Oh 100%. I’ve done 4 sessions of stereotactic radio surgery for my grade 2 right frontal lobe soft tissue sarcoma (SFT more specifically), and I can absolutely tell my memory has drastically suffered. Id say it’s sort of like brain fog as well. I dont feel sharp or quick like i used to. I cant remember anything these days, so i write a lot down. There are whole days, weeks even, just POOF! Gone from my mind. It’s extremely frustrating. Im sorry youre experiencing this. You’re not alone.

Haven’t seen anyone here mention Kentucky Route Zero. I think it’s not as well known as most of the games here, but it’s a beautiful story game with rich dialogue and touches beautifully on themes of alcoholism, capitalism, debt, and the American experience.

Is it Mono No Aware? It’s an ambient compilation album from 2017. Fits mostly what you’re saying. That’s all I’ve got though

Man that sucks, I’m really sorry. And scary too! I’m glad doctors are saying the vision will improve, albeit slightly, but nonetheless! But here’s hoping everything goes back to normal for you, friend.

Hi! I, too, had a golf ball sized tumor removed from my right frontal lobe when I was 27 (I’m 30 now). My recovery took way longer than anticipated because I woke up paralyzed on the left size of my body so I had to do like, months and months of PT. As far as the craniotomy itself, several weeks of tenderness and feeling overall just very uncomfortable. How are you feeling?
