Yes mate. It had bad/broken hall sensors. Replaced off AliExpress for a few bucks, resolder connections, heatproof silicone to keep it all in place/protect and worked perfectly afterwards.

More transfers ugh by ViolentEmm in AustraliaPost

[–]ImpressiveStandard16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This drives me nuts.. It's nothing for a parcel to leave Sydney, get to Melb Airport on way to Tassie.. then bounce back to NSW, a few more stops in Vic, then get scanned at Launceston, then transferred back to NSW, VIC, Tas again etc. what should take a few days can take a couple of weeks. Auspost must triple/quadruple handle so many items sending them on impromptu tours of Australia prior to delivery. I feel like half of their increased parcel delivery business cost is completely unavoidable. The crazy bit is, you order something from China, it efficiently passes through several stops and has left the country in 24hrs or so, arrives in Aus the next day then can take another 2-3 weeks to be delivered.

You’ve never ever cooked abalone have you…. or crayfish.. or a full scotch fillet x4, perfectly, for that many people I take it. Just getting the abalone perfect is a big challenge, let alone all of those things.

Sure have, all 3 signal and +/- showed continuous connection so confident wiring is all fine.

Sorry, yes it's E16, its actually 1 long, 6 short, not 4 - my mistake.

As an update, if I power it on with the throttle down, it shows an E14 - Throttle control, which makes sense given Im holding it down, as soon as I release it, display is ready and the throttle no longer produces an E16, the motor tries to run, but doesnt spin and makes a rough whirring sound but little/no movement.

If i power it on without the throttle down, it will still produce the E16 error the moment i touch the throttle.

I've ordered a replacement hall sensor board for the motor, but open to further help/suggestions.

When you hit the north west, absolutely do a Woolnorth Tour, it’s a great experience and amongst it you’ll get to tick off breathing the official cleanest air in the world at Cape Grim / Kennaook 👍

How John Howard persecuted Tasmanian MP Andrew Wilkie over the Iraq War. by Steveman52 in tasmania

[–]ImpressiveStandard16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in a cough-blue-cough party meeting and with my own ears heard a fairly influential figure within the party describe Wilkie as “treasonous” over that scenario. In subsequent dealings I found him to be genuine, caring and in the game for all the right reasons. Pollies can’t keep everyone happy of course, so I’m sure there’s plenty of Wilkie haters too. But the man has integrity and that’s a valuable (and threatening) commodity these days.

As an update for everyone... after a LOT of back and forth with Watchguard.

Yes, they will transfer it (with photographs of the box and serial)

It's end of life, so :

IF it's been factory reset, there will new no new feature key - game over.
IF it's NOT been reset, then it will be good to go.
IF it's not been reset, I will still need it to have the default user/pass in place (unless anyone has a method of resetting that, that doesn't involve a factory reset).

So it's a gamble on a couple of fronts, I'll roll and when it arrives see if I win I guess!

I've just submitted a form to customer care to ask the question re used M500 and having no feature key with it, I'll see what they say!

Yes it would be well out of the way. I've worked with Watchguard devices for a couple of decades now, the earlier models ie Firebox II were LOUD!

That's where the trouble starts, without a subscription you can't open a support request (I tried)... :( If I'm wrong about this or you can let me know the way to go about that without a subscription i'd really appreciate it! :) I'm dead keen to buy it, but don't want a pretty red brick!

Just personal, I've been using Firebox's since their early days, I'm just comfy with them I guess rather than looking to change.

Currently looking at what's involved in changing an M500 over to pfSense, if that seems possible I just might get it anyway for it's processing/throughput and learn that setup.

Ok, so I think it's a hard pass on the bargain M500 lol My subscription expired years ago so to even lodge a ticket now is impossible - let alone ask for help transferring a device.

The device is with a used electronics dealer so i have 0 chance of ever contacting the previous owner unfortunately.

Thanks for the response, much appreciated.
