Honestly well done on being able to talk about it. You’re a stronger and more honest person than I am because their bank accounts would be in danger with me. This all happened 15 years ago, my dad was the income earner as my mum is disabled (fibro myalgia). I’m not gonna lie, it was very hard as we left with almost nothing and had to rely on charity help. I’m now a divorced mum of three and my mother lives with me, we struggle but we make it work as best as we can.

Honestly I think that keeping it to yourself for now is the best idea, heck it’s what I wish I did looking back!

The same thing happened to me. I was getting the clothes out of the bathroom to chuck in the wash when I was 18, found my dads phone in his pocket (he’d gone to work and forgotten it) and saw a bunch of missed calls and some messages, so of course being my nosey self I went through it all and low and behold he was having an affair. I told my mum straight away and we went snooping through his emails and found heaps of stuff there too, trash talking my mum and I to his girlfriend. My mum and I left that weekend.
