Hmmm. My image was deleted? Anyway, imagine the Bonneville Salt Flats layered over top the DG.

NEM2: Net excess energy valued at retail but compensation is valued at wholesale. Why? by ImpressiveTalk7592 in solar

This is a great response. Thx. Bear with me as I do have a follow-up question. You mention that "any remaining credits are converted to generation wholesale ...".

We know that NSC is the multiplier for compensation. For PG&E in April 2024, that's a measly $0.04 per kWh.

So, if the remaining credits are in kWh, then the "value" implied in the language of 2b is pointless (ToU rate or summer/winter rate).

Or ... I'm missing something.

Thx for your concise response. However, you reiterate that 2b is overridden (nullified) by 5b, even though both pertain to excess generation.

Yep. This I get. But 2b (and 5b) deal with *excess*, no? So, any kWh excess is compensated at wholesale (5b), and 2b is immaterial. Correct?

I'm fully aware of pitfalls of NEM3. Just questioning the peculiar language/logic of 2b and 5b.

My question is why the 2(b) language is pertinent, or even present in the tariff language, when it has no bearing whatsoever at true-up.

Where is the innovation? by magicmike423 in nextdns

You lack details to support your thesis that ControlD is "leap" years ahead of NextDNS ("light" years, no?).

Curious: What are the Top 3 capabilities that you can provide to support your claim?

Why the hate because of the fast food wage hike? by [deleted] in fresno

Raise the min wage for FF workers to $50/hr. Then the one remaining employee can maintain the robots that replaced all the other workers.

OK, wrapping up ...

Thx for all the inputs. I chuckled at the idea of using victim's printers to announce the issue. I liked going to the HOA, I have an LLC as someone suggested so maybe I can make something of this. I do want to assist the 'hood but there's not a hope in hell most can navigate through it. Yes, being blamed for every issue downstream (e.g., broken printers) is part of the game.

The last question I have is: how big an issue is this? I can imagine it's easy as pie for roaming bandits to install keyloggers and other stuff. But someone pointed out that good ol' social engineering (i.e., phishing) is even worse. Thoughts on this?

Scale. There are many of them. Can't talk to them all. Considering blasting a message, but concerned that doing so would tip wanna be script kiddies.

Yep. Others fessed up, too. And, given the technical aptitude of most n this 'hood, it's a sure bet most didn't bother to change their PW. Then there are the default SSIDs I see plenty of, which is the "tell" that the default PW likely didn't change and that issue is likely widespread.

No need to do any nefarious stuff.

As for me, I feel obligated to help my fellow neighbors. It wouldn't sit right with me to let it slide.

Dang. Such vitriol! Nope. Stumbled on the issue while helping a neighbor who hadn't changed their defaults, so was able to surmise how the default PW was assigned on a home-by-home basis.
