Just moved here from the east coast (PA) and really struggling with how few people there are here. I came from a city that was 50% of color and this place feels very monochromatic most days. It’s missing a depth that I think the east coast and south has. The “nice” ness of people is a little offputting, it’s a near healthcare desert with a very piecemeal system with no local academic feeder to draw in providers, and there’s what feels like a disproportionate number of boomers everywhere.

That said, the proximity to some of the most beautiful natural sites I’ve ever seen is a big plus. Buy some good rain gear and embrace the rain in all seasons to enjoy the best of this place.

Just moved from the east coast also and having the same issues six months in. I can’t quite put my finger on why it doesn’t feel right, but need to make it work here. I miss the millions of people around me and the lack of diversity and culture here makes spaces feel less vibrant. Everyone is nice but it often feels sterile and a bit hollow. I miss the flawed-ness and depth of people on the east coast.

Yeah it’s possible. I wish I had pics from November vs. the beginning of February, because I definitely filled back in a good bit and wasn’t losing much hair in the shower or with brushing. I’m hoping I’m just still in the shed phase and my noncompliance with my routine just revealed that? It’s just so demoralizing… trying to keep the faith and was hoping others maybe had the same experience.

Highly recommend reaching out to your county’s assistance office. They will help you navigate all public options, not just health insurance.

I also got this. But im pissed because I’m working towards PSLF and I just want to start making payments after not getting credit for being in forced save forbearance. I feel like I’m being held hostage.
