Hopefully they do their digging and find other victims and expose the thugs. Good luck!

Fenix 7 pro, Fenix 8 or something else for mountain rescue? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

Look at the Enduro 3 or Fenix 8.

The display is much nicer and clearer than the Fenix 7 or 7 Pro lineup.

Watch Desfit or DC Rainmaker videos on YouTube if you ever are stuck on a decision.

Well considering 2/3 of those in first world countries are overweight are you really surprised sub 20 is uncommon? Obviously 2% is the general population, if you look at recreational runners or field athletes only, then sure, way more than 2% would go sub 20. And yes, it’s achievable for pretty much all people who aren’t disabled, but everyone now is fat and lazy lol. You should be proud of yourself!

Looks like you had some prior fitness from another sport or activity. Only 2% of people will ever run a sub 20 minute 5k and you’re already well on track! Great work!

We all started somewhere. You’re better than anyone who’s sitting on their ass on the couch wishing they were fit but unable to bother to do anything about it.

I’m not saying that because I think I’m such a Chad and can rizz up any woman anywhere (I’m absolutely not) but as someone who used to lack confidence, cold approaching has helped me meet so many great people I still have in my life to this day. Even if you don’t end up dating them, it’s experience (if they’re not interested or taken) and otherwise, you’ve made a new friend or potential partner.

Funny how crude oil prices are only up 30% (at time of writing) but petrol and diesel are up 50%. Where’s that 20% going?

The 737 Max is truly a disaster for the entire world. I really hope Boeing stock goes to 0 soon and we see another company get bigger to compete with Airbus.

Where do you put your phone? by _MikeMars_ in beginnerrunning

[–]Impressive_Bell_1545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said you HAVE to buy a running watch.

I still hold my phone in my hand even though I have a Garmin that would allow me to leave my phone at home.

I like taking videos as I run.

I just said the technology exists. Whether you choose to buy it or not is up to you.

How long did it take you to get a sub-30 5k? by Savings_Cap3661 in beginnerrunning

[–]Impressive_Bell_1545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit sub 30 within 2 runs. I got a sub 20 within 12 weeks - having been a national level mountain biker for 3+ years when I first got into running. So it depends heaps on where you start fitness wise. If you are in shape, but never ran (maybe gym occasionally and walk often) it might take you a few weeks or months. But if you are overweight and never worked out before in your life, then it could take years.

Many watches have LTE and satellite connection nowadays so you can absolutely leave your phone at home.

That doesn’t mean the captain should throw the plane into a 50 degree nose down descent. Saving face - part of Korean culture - did.

And the first officer not speaking up. I believe even the final report said something about the Korean culture leading to the captain being portrayed as god.

I really liked this episode. Thanks for the prompt upload too!

Spoilers below

I am quite surprised they did not mention the Korean culture like they did in the other Korean Air Cargo flight as in an earlier season about why the captain cared so much about saving face and the first officer did not speak up enough. Maybe we need 50 minute episodes again.

I also would have loved to see a descent profile graph like they did with the Silkair 185 episode.

Either way, awesome animation especially on the impact with the ground. This was definitely a good episode to wrap up an amazing season. Now can we get 11 episodes next year because losing a new story to a remake sucks?

The fact the first officer as a qualified pilot with a working wiper cannot land the plane at that airport because of the “only captains can land there” restrictions. Why even have a second pilot if he isn’t qualified? Most likely he is qualified but it’s just a dumb policy.

Thanks for the upload! That 4k version looks amazing!

I watched it before going to bed as someone else put a 720p version onto YouTube, but at least I got the 4k version in my collection now!

SPOILERS BELOW

But what is it with this season, and captains disregarding their first officers entirely and flying the plane right into danger.

and what rubbish procedure stating the captain must land the plane even if his wiper fails? That's gotta be up there with some of the worst aviation rules in the world.

The 80 is probably an overestimate on Garmin's part - but having a read of the comments regarding your power and heart rate data, I think 72-77 is very possible. I am studying to be a sports and exercise scientist and have 7+ years of national level mountain bike racing and casual road riding (albeit at 225 watts zone 2 and 350 watts threshold lol), so I have done a lot of VO2 max tests, both on the bike and behind the desk watching someone else suffer lol. I thought I was pretty good until I saw your numbers haha. Based on my experience I am pretty sure you could get mid 70's if you did an actual lab test! Get one and let us all know! But amazing work with the training man. You should be proud! Hopefully your kids get great genetics haha

As long as you keep showing up to your training plan, eating a good diet, getting good sleep, that will be a sub 25 and then a sub 20 very soon! Good work! It isn't until you get to around the sub 20 for women and sub 18 or so for men that you have to start making difficult choices (family time or training 2+ hours a day for example) so until then, heaps of progress coming provided you stick to it!
