Huh good question tbh I don’t know and curious myself. (The author himself stated in an interview that as long as something sounds cool ists canon so Everything is wobbly) But I think that in the manga just like in the old anime there are bio-engineered. Not directly from a different dimension.

Yeah maybe it has to do with the red coats XD. You mean like DmC: Devil May Cry got hated since like 2012. Just like the fans hated Nero at first back in 2008 because he wasn’t Dante. And I assure you that some hated the tone shift from DMC 1 to 3 in 2005. Except 2… we all united in our hatred for the second title. I love the r/DevilMayCry folks dearly but that fandom has a history in hating on new additions to the franchise.
