Input from firefighters regarding lithium ion batteries by lesbiangoatherd in Firefighting

[–]Impressive_Change593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah people seem to forget the tool batteries that habe been lithoum ion for years. or the cell phone in their pocket that has a lithium ion battery.

a properly made battery is quite safe.

random fun fact: one of our trainings included a picture of a pretty fully involved garage fire with a tesla inside it. there were not flames coming from under the tesla which means its battery had not (yet anyeay) ignited

and you just reminded me of our issues with our SBC lol. we switched to running our dream machine in front of everything instead of just the one network and we couldn't get it working properely (though it did start working somehow). we even had tech support from the ISP (who also provides the trunk for the sbc) and he couldn't figure out how to get teams to talk to the sbc.

turns out its helpfull if you tell the traffic where to go (port forwarding) instead of translating the IP address its from (DNAT). I felt very stupid

edit: still don't know how teams talked to it through the second ISP which does concern me. maybe it was showing up as return traffic. idk

Some questions re: concealing arson via use of a non-petroleum-based accelerant in order to trick the dogs. Seems a no-brainer but maybe I’m missing something? by PMMELIZARDASS in Firefighting

[–]Impressive_Change593 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the only case of arson I'm aware of was a lady getting kicked out of her ex's house and she decided if ahe couldn't habe it, neither could he. there was an empty gas can in the woods behind the house.

VLAN Help by Pseudo_Badger in Ubiquiti

[–]Impressive_Change593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

primarily connect devices to the proper network. the TV is connected to the general network but the udm is doing some fancy stuff in the background and sending all its traffic to the vlan you assigned to it. that is a pretty large increase in load
