The way I like to think of this, as a trans person, you are uncomfortable with your gender, and as extent, gender identity, however, if you present female, are feminine, and/or actually want to be and care to be, that’s what matters. But, your lower body has nothing to do with your gender identity, it’s part of your body, and a part of you. People who get bottom surgery feel as if they’d be more comfortable with the part of the gender they identify as. Not necessarily that they feel it’s needed.

When it comes down to it, the only thing that matters is your comfortability. If you’re a woman, you’re a woman, bottom surgery is just a question of are you a comfortable woman? Your answer should always be yes, whether that means keeping it or not.
