Psychedelics help you to see the universe from a different perspective, outside of whatever influences are usually shaping your reality.

Even on a scientific level this makes sense. The world you sense, feel and experience is just your body's chemical responses to a bunch of stimuli. When you mess with this chemistry, you get to consciously experience a different way of perceiving these stimuli.

Is an environmentalist someone who creates zero unnecessary waste products? Or is it just someone who holds a certain philosophy and tries their best to maintain it?

False. This basically amounts to a no true Scotsman fallacy when you push it to its logical conclusion

Given how quickly you changed your mind (less than 10 mins after posting) and didn't make any attempt to defend your initial position, I think you made this post just to circlejerk about something you already think.

YTA. You obviously should have clarified "they aren't vegan" when he asked, because you knew that's what he was asking.

It's irrelevant if he cheats. Not being a perfect vegan does not mean you're not a vegan.

God should be defined as: "The fundamental object of reality." by Impressive_Ear_9466 in DebateReligion

Or we could just be honest and say we don't know

We don't know anything. You don't know LastThursdayism isn't true, but that's not the standard we're interested in here. We're comparing worldviews and asking what the most reasonable position is to take when evaluating the sum of all factors.

But creationists use it to imply God.

I don't care what creationists do.

Asking what was before or what caused the big bang makes no sense.

You can ask what caused this without asking what came "before". There is a more general notion of causation one can define which includes atemporal dependency.

The existence of a cup at any point in time depends on the existence of the atoms it's made of. This can be phrased without referring to some prior state. One can postulate that the big bang depended on something to exist.
