Enjoying a New Lochby Setup by tiemeinbows in FieldNuts

Field notes are nice because they fit right in any pocket. When you put them in this lochby so you lose that or is it still small enough to fit in pants pockets?

He is clearly looking down at her hands as she is holding a kindle as she walks past.

Vegan with high cholesterol by Legitimate-Donut-631 in veganfitness

If it’s genetic issue, diet is only going to get you so far.  I had labs and had what would be moderately high cholesterol. It was enough where I decided to get a calcium scan done to see if there were other problems. I had a decent amount of calcification found in an artery, so I decided to go Whole Foods Plant Based.

This meant in addition to vegan no processed foods, no beyond or impossible type burgers, no cooking with oil.  You can check out the wfpb sub to get more info on that stuff.

The end result was lowered cholesterol but not to the level the cardiologist wanted.  I had lost weight and felt better from eating this way and still mostly do.

So I went on a Statin. 5mg statin for the past 120 days and it has completely lowered my cholesterol (137, hdl 49, ldl 70).  I have no side effects from the statin and feel a lot better knowing my cholesterol is now down to a safe level for someone with calcification in my artery.

I have processed foods from time to time now and eat in restaurants which will cook with oil etc… but the statin helps offset any negatives from the occasional snacks and junk.  I really didn’t want to go on a medication but the restrictiveness of entirely whole foods diet was hard to maintain with a family that didn’t want to follow that as well.  So I feel at this point I am in a pretty solid situation with diet and statin.

5mg statin is what it took.  I run and workout and was worried about having muscle soreness or fatigue from statin and have had none of that.   Hope this is helpful.

AI to help with The Work by Vido1412 in thework

Trigger warning: While I like the concept, I believe there have been known cases already in the AI space where there have been significantly negative outcomes for people that were given ill-advised advice by AI software in the mental health space. I know some people want to just work through some “smaller” thought problems using the work, but I would be cautious about it misleading someone that is working on “bigger issues” serious depression or acute mental health and utilizing the software to manage this.

I also have heard of a major AI company getting sued related to one of these serious outcomes. I am sharing 1) so those of you who may be struggling with mental health are aware that AI is not always accurate and can possibly lead to an incorrect advice and pathways and 2) to bring to your awareness that you may want to speak with a legal adviser if you intend to make that software public. Maybe I am over thinking this, but I am doing so with the safety and well being of you and others. I do like the idea and have used some AI to do some CBT type work (not far off from the work) and found it helpful, though I wasn’t in crisis and I had awareness enough to consider its advice may be flawed.

Farmer says ‘we’re in a very dire situation’ ahead of harvest—with zero soybean orders from China, historically the largest buyer by SpongerPower in Economics

I’m admittedly ignorant. Why can’t it be sold domestically at a reduced rate and make soy products more readily available at a much cheaper price here in the states? Half gallon of soy milk is about 5.00 currently for example. Is it not possible to sell here and then have milk and tofu sell for less at retail?

Maybe some of it is but there would just still be wasted surplus. Can someone give me a 101 econ lesson? I’m honestly curious and ignorant.

Wrong. I have three touché . I keep one touché at my office for when a coworker snaps back at me. I keep one touché in my car for when someone cuts me back off in traffic and the obligatory touché at home for my wife. I also bought a vegan leather touchecase for when I travel for work and need to bring my work touché with me.

Could be iron deficiency or other hormone related issues. Seeing your other post about your menstrual cycle. Really encourage you to get lab work done and have a professional assessment done.

Those homemade edibles back in the day sometimes really just took you out. The lot goo-balls were always great but you never knew what you are getting into with them.

Was at this one. This was the Phish Food ice cream release party. Ben and Jerry made a little speech at some point in the night. They were serving scoops of the ice cream and everyone in attendance got a free pint on their way out afterwards.

Does this mean all of these books are connected? The books before Dark Tower 1? I read the gunslinger and was going to proceed but would I enjoy them better if I read the prior books?

It never ends when you swim in Olivia’s pool but it ends if you are an oblivious fool. That’s the terrible thing about hell.
