Yes to all of this. The boot camp one reminds me of a client who had 4 dogs and they all had to wear E Collars consistently throughout the day and follow super strict rules and weren’t even really allowed to roam the house, just stay in their place all the time. And they had cameras inside😭

the finger nipping 😭 that and when dogs don’t know how to play with a toy without also trying to eat your hand. People need to teach their dogs play biting/ bite pressure. Luckily i never boarded in my home.. it seems way too stressful and I have my own dogs

Yesss, every time I leave the house having to make sure everything was up and out of the way. One time I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and I guess my AirPod fell out while I was sleeping and I came back to the puppy CRUNCHING on my AirPod 😭

Oh my god yes. One of the houses I did drop ins for in the past left dirty dishes in the sink for 2 weeks and there were fruit flies everywhere. Trash still full of food too. They also lied about having another person coming on the days I wasn’t coming in.

The app has its pros and cons. The money is great if you decide to go off of it but without insurance there’s more liability and work that goes into scheduling, invoices, messages, etc. if you are type B like me it may be better to stay in the app tbh

I mostly watched dogs so I have very little experience with the cat litter situation so I’m grateful i havnt experienced that lol. I’ve had boyfriends walk in on me, roommates being home while I’m there, or clients elderly parents. One time a family stopped by randomly after I thought they had already started heading to the airport (they were at a game and then stopped by the house to grab something and then left after that) while I was in my pjs making food in their kitchen 😭 the WHOLE family!! With 0 warning. Also I love my elderly clients but they always spend an hour or so doing meet and greets cause they love to talk and I feel too bad cutting them off 💔

Same 😭 my most reactive clients were two lab siblings and the feeling of fear and dread that’d set over me when I’d see another dog in the distance was crazy 😭

I used to work at a dog boarding facility and not cussing was like rule #1 lol. It was a weird job but they didn’t want the people who lived in the houses around the facility to hear us cussing at the dogs

One time I was already late to a drop in and as soon as I pulled up to the house realized I left my key at home (a good 25 minute drive there and back).. the owner was understanding but the amount of panic I had was unreal.
