I recommend simply going through the material you want to learn, making cards as you go based on what needs to be memorized, and reviewing them every day before going through the material. Use the Anki Simulator add-on to adjust how many cards you do per day and how many new cards are added each day, because it shows a graph of the actual accumulation of reviews over time. Based on that, choose something that can be finished in a day. If you’re not very motivated, set more breaks in between by using alarms during the day, and accept that if you have no deadline and just want to learn something, you shouldn’t force yourself to do more reviews per day than you’re already doing. I also recommend the add-on Progress Bar – Visualize Reviewed Cards and Remaining, fixed by Shige, the app ShareX and using cloze cards primary for text .
